Comey Makes the Case for Trump
American Thinker ^ | July 8, 2016 | Jonathan F. Keiler

Thanks to FBI Director James Comey I will vote for Donald Trump. As is the case with a lot of conservatives, Trump is not exactly to my taste, and while never a part of the Never Trump crowd, I’ve remained on the fence about him. But elections are not only about individuals, they are about systems, principles, and the rule of law. Both Trump and Clinton are very flawed candidates. However, Trump is not an outright criminal. And he is not the candidate of an utterly corrupt government and party that threatens to literally destroy our republic. That will have to be enough for me and should be sufficient for any other American who still cares about the constitutional rule of law.

Some commentators on both the right and the left have attempted to paint Comey’s announcement that the FBI would not refer charges in the Hillary Clinton email scandal as something other than a corrupt and craven capitulation to a dictatorial president and his would-be successor. Before announcing that Hillary would face no charges -- the final announcement came a day later when Attorney General Loretta Lynch “accepted” Comey’s findings -- Comey laid out a convincing case as to why Hillary ought to go to jail. Then in a breathtaking display of contempt for the rule of law and the bedrock principles upon which this country was founded, Comey rationalized the reasons Hillary Clinton would not be subject to this sanction. Just to make it clear that he was he was not applying justice fairly, Comey then assured us that anyone without political influence and power who acted as Hillary did would face the full wrath of the law.

Both Trump and Clinton are very flawed candidates.

I must not be very smart because I can't see the correlation of the Trump and Clinton comparisons.

I certainly don't see how Trump is flawed, let alone very flawed.

I certainly do see that Clinton is flawed, just by reading her history.

IMHO. There has been a lot of talk about Trump not being a conservative or conservative enough. Question, what have the so-called conservative gotten for us, the people out here in the hinterlands? They have given Obama everything he wanted and then some.

IMHO what we need are patriots who love our country as opposed to these might be conservatives. Trump is as close to a patriot as we have had for many decades.

I love how so many supposedly on the Right make sure to go out of their way to point out what a “flawed candidate” Trump is.

I don’t remember these so-called conservatives (whatever “conservative” means these days - maybe keeping the status quo, the whole establishment problem in D.C. and around the country) constantly reminding everyone what a flawed candidate Romney was or McCain was, even though they were deeply flawed as is a great portion of the Republican party.

By “flawed” one can infer most of these yokels are referring to Trump’s demeanor which the “experts” and pundits don’t like but America loves. What they call “flawed” we call “wonderful”. Trump thumbing his nose at political correctness.

GO TRUMP!!!

It WAS breathtaking... it also pointed to another ugly truth about Comey... he probably WAS the person who started the War On Cops... the Ferguson Effect - by sending 75 agents to that hellhole without ONE shred of evidence that the criminal - Brown - was a 'gentle giant'.

Comey has blood on his hands for the slaughter last night...

Now we understand why the press has backed him - he's part of the totalitarian gang of thugs.

Comey very clearly stated the Hillary Clinton was not sophisticated enough to recognize or know whether a message was classified or not - yet she was the Secretary of State.

A while later, probably realizing he had opened up a can or worms, he stipulated that any ordinary citizen being careless of national security and emails would face the wrath of the law. So Comey thinks us ordinary folks are smarter than the ‘smartest woman in the world” and should understand what is classified or not.

Hillary stated over and over that she never had any classified emails - yet she was SoS!!!!! She is either the most prolific liar in the world or the dumbest woman in the world [or she thinks we are all so stupid!]. She offends me mightily.

I hope many, many others see it this way, as well.

Donald Trump was not my first choice, but he is clearly the best of the remaining candidates. The only choice, IMO.

I have cheered many of the things he’s said in the past few years, particularly about the weakness of our current ‘leadership’, how we are viewed by our enemies, and how we are constantly taken advantage-of by our major trade partners.

There are some things about him that make me a little nervous, but they pale in comparison to the heebie-jeebies that Hillary gives me.

We cannot allow Hillary Clinton to become president. That’s an affront to our founding fathers and anyone who believes in the rule of law, and sign of disservice and neglect of our children and grandchildren.

With the latest debacle at the hands of Mr. Comey, I have gone from holding my nose to slightly obstructing one nostril.

Trump, it is. No question about it.

It tells me they probably aren’t right-wing. Not that Trump is perfect. There is no perfect candidate. But at this stage they are only helping or hope to help Hillary.

Romney was far more flawed than Trump.

The way he says “Trump is not to my taste” tells all. Most people who say they don’t like Trump don’t like his ways. You know what? I have never met him but I feel his ways are super familiar and I get him completely. His ways, his accent, his hand gestures, ALL OF IT really remind me of what I am used to. It’s a New York Jewish way of speaking. I know he is not Jewish, but he grew up in Queens and a lot of mannerisms and ways of blunt talk (that isn’t always meant) are very familiar to me.

I think maybe all the people who just don’t like his ways just don’t accept the ethnic by osmosis persona he has.

Those folks who find Trump flawed haven’t read any of his policy papers or books. Do not like the way he says what’s on his mind. Are fundamentally globalists who want open borders (ya know McShamey, Ryan, Grahamnesty)

I am wondering who Trump will place in command of the FBI.
I am wondering who Trump will place in command of the CIA.
I am wondering who Trump will place in command of the DOJ.

And above these wonderments, how long will it take Trump to enact dissolution of the Dept. of Homeland Security, and return the duties abroad to the CIA, and the duties at home to the FBI, and disband the NSA?????

You know what’s coming I think and hope? A MAJOR disruption in D.C. A guy in Forbes was talking about it. All of them, GOP & Dems, absolutely do NOT want disruption which is exactly what Trump represents

http://www.forbes.com/sites/currentevents/2016/04/26/upheaval-to-reinvent-u-s-politics/#a6dc7d8eeed3

And if God in his great grace has mercy on America, at some point there will be a mass exodus from D.C. the likes of which we’ve never seen before. Hundreds of thousand of government workers, bureaucrats, and officials sent home packing. Don’t shed too many tears for them. They’ll find other jobs. But cheer for America which has put the central government beast back into its constitutional cage where it will stop being a threat to the American People and start doing its job of protecting our freedoms.

America will once again be the home of the brave and the land of the free. That’s how we started. PC says that’s corny. But our Founders thought it was worth fighting and dying for and so do I.

It’s time for every, single American, everywhere, to come to this realization: come November, it’s either Trump or Hillary.

And Hillary means to take America even farther in the direction of obama.

It’s that simple.

So Trump is not an “outright criminal” you say? So you mean then he’s a criminal, though not “outright”?

The hubris in this article stinks to high heaven.
