For the sake of discussion, how do you even organize that? That’s a liability nightmare.

What are the rules of engagement? If called up by the PD, are they deputized? If not, if they answer the call, are they still considered agents of the police department, bound to civil rights restrictions and policies of the department? What is the chain of command? Who are the threats? What is the screening process, so you don’t mistakenly invite someone in who has a racist agenda?

I don’t think we are there just yet.
