Uhh...Augusto Pinochet was a cruel and violent dictator. Sure, he ‘deloused’ the country alright...by killing off the opposition. Torture, imprisonment, and execution (one method was dumping pregnant women out of airplanes) were the ways he did it.

A few years ago, I once saw a FReeper suggest, in a SHTF scenario, that they raid housing/HUD offices and get a list of all Section 8 recipients in the area...then find and “eliminate all the parasites”. I’m hoping the dude was troll, because if that’s what being a conservative is...screw that.
Pinochet prevented Chile from descending into a communist hellhole in which hundreds of thousands of people would have been murdered or "disappeared". The few thousand hardline leftists that he had killed was a small price too pay, considering the alternative.
Once he got the country straightened out, he stepped down. Chile is the jewel of South America today because of him.
Remember, the left in this country wants you dead, too.
