I have a chl, and have been stopped twice for speeding- once by a City Cop, once by the TX DPS. I know that as soon as they run my plates, they will see the owner of the vehicle (me) has a chl, insurance, valid driver’s license, and current registration.

When I see flashing lights, I roll down my window, pull over in a safe spot, and plant my hands firmly on the steering wheel in a Ten o’clock, Two o’clock position.

When the Officer walks up to my car window, my hands remain firmly on the wheel. I state I have a chl, and await the officer’s instructions.

I think that is probably the protocol in most states with chl’s. I do not believe Mr. Castile followed this protocol.

That’s very commendable. But do you know if Castile was the vehicle RO?

And did the cop who pulled you over suspect an “Armed robbery suspect” was in your the vehicle?

Do you realize it appears very possible the LEOs up in MN made some glaring mistakes of their own here?
