Probably not likely but the fact that Pence withdraw's from the Governor's race does not necessarily mean he will be VP candidate. It's possible Trump tapped him for another slot in the Administration (should he not be selected as VP).

The media would really look like fools if Trump was to pick somebody else entirely. Also, Pence would need to be a really good sport about the whole thing - as the media has been declaring all day he's the VP.

While I don’t believe Allen West has been considered for VP, I believe he would have made one of the best picks for VP, and may well have gone on to succeed Trump as one of the best presidents in recent history.

The RNC truly cannot stand Allen West though, and I believe there is a good chance Trump will pick someone more likely to “bridge the gaps.”

Of course this is if Trump is actually elected.

Everyone makes one mistake in their careers, this was Newt's. He is still better than the stick in the mud, boring Pence by a million miles.

The only reason I can think Trump would pick Pence is so that he can be sure Pence will never uspstage or out shine Trump because Pence is a wall flower. Like I said previously: Ence so the Republican version of Joe Biden... blech, no free in his belly, not up to the task at hand.

Pence won't be a running mate, he will be an anchor and chain around Trump's neck and campaign, dragging the ticket down.

I grantee people won't be flocking in droves to hear Pence speak at campaign rallys... que the crickets. That wouldn't be the case for Newt were he Trump's VP pick. Newt can fill any venue and can resoundingly rally the troops to support TRUMP and his agenda while continually raking Hildabeast over the coals. And, contrary to plain, uninspiring Pence Newt would destroy Hildabeast's VP pick in all of the debates!
