The U.S. and Turkey traded harsh words Saturday in the wake of a failed military coup against the Ankara government, while all air missions against the ISIS terror group out of Turkey were grounded.
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook confirmed that power had been cut to the Incirlik air base in southern Turkey, near the Syria border. Cook also confirmed that Turkey had halted all military flights out of the base, including those by its own jets.
The Pentagon said it was trying to get permission to resume air operations from the base, while adjusting mission operations in the meantime.

I say that Turkey did shut down their own air flights, but not the US forces. Obama ordered that, and Turkey cut power to the airport to make it ‘look good’ for the US.
Whenever Obama speaks, there is always BS involved.

Both Obama and Erdogan needed an excuse to shut down the inevitable coming use of US air power against their ISIS pets and their black market stolen oil routes transported through Syria and Turkey, funding ISIS and Erdogan.
The "coup" allowed Ergodan to close Incirlik Air Base, the US base for US airstrikes in Syria.
What we know: Incirlik AFB still at FPDELTA, no power, no flights in and out. Civil unrest throughout #turkey especially #Istanbul continue.

Cutting power to an airbase DOES NOT AFFECT THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE. If they need power, they generate it. Further, US air assets ARE NOT GROUNDED. We can down anything Turkey flys at us, and quickly.
Flights can leave any time they want, with almost zero risk of being downed.

Take a look at a map. You know how many terrorist groups are within a few hundred miles ? Not to mention Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Everyone will know what’s on those birds. And at this point Erdogan can blame it on the coup forces.
