The story isn’t complete without knowing how these people voted in past elections and whether they were part of the mobs that helped put the communist Chavez into power. I’m sure there were many Germans who voted for Hitler who had buyers remorse in the aftermath of WWII.

I believe at some point the past voting is irrelevant, as the choice no longer presents itself. Look at the US today (heading into the November election); that Hillary is even a candidate, and running par with Trump (or ANY challenger), speaks volumes about issues with elections. Romney was right that 47% of the vote was already in the Dem column; I hope foreigners don’t judge the rest of us when people like Obama win elections. The media bias, combined with a general dumbing-down and mass wealth transfers, has made it very difficult for normal taxpaying Americans to be represented in the White House.

The fact that the IRS targeted conservative groups, denying them their tax-exempt status with elections approaching, is another indicator as to how past votes become meaningless when a party in power works overtime to remain there.
