I never thought I would ever entertain the thought that, of the open options, he (Trump) would be better for Europe and for Hungary.
"But I listened to the candidate and I must tell you he made three proposals to combat terrorism. And as a European I could have hardly articulated better what Europe needs."
Since Mr Orban came into power, President Obamas administration has criticised Hungary for alleged state corruption, failure to observe freedom of religion and not following the rule of law.

After Mr Trump said he wants to create the best intelligence-gathering organisation in the world, Mr Orban said he should create a network of national intelligence agencies.
He also said: The second thing, said this valiant American presidential candidate, is to abandon the policy of exporting democracy. I could not have said it more precisely.
"If we keep prioritising democracy over stability in regions where we are unlikely to succeed with that, we will create instability, not democracy."

I want to go back again to Krakow.
It is a wonderful city with the largest plaza in Europe. Especially like the 24 hour fire department buglers that keep a centuries old tradition going.
What a spot, safe from Muslims, in Eastern Europe.
We made the same circuit.
Yes, the "Hejnal" is the song the bugler played when he warned the city of invading Tartars, he took an arrow right in the throat mid-note, which explains the sudden stop.
Did you go to the Wieliczka Salt Mines?
Point taken - the grace of geographic remoteness favors Canada.
But cut the Hungarians some slack, they’re good people and still working to economically catch up with the old “Western Europe”. Perhaps the “one for all and all for one” Musketeer credo should not apply to NATO anymore.
In any case, Orban seems like one of the few adults left on the European political stage. Go Orban, I say!
I have no doubt they are good people but it appears that with the Trump administration they will have to "show me the money" before they can count on U.S. support should they be forced to invoke Article V.
Perhaps the one for all and all for one Musketeer credo should not apply to NATO anymore.
I believe that is what Trump is talking about.
If, hypothetically, Russia should decide to cross the Arctic to Canada in an “extend Siberia to the east” scenario to grab the Canadian oil sands...because Art. V has been reneged...what say you then?
Oops, the check is in the mail? Would you expect the US to step in to save you? If so, why, if you haven’t “shown the money”?
Just pointing out the principle, as unlikely as the above scenario is.
Hungary’s constitution upholds the sanctity of marriage, and the sanctity of life.
ELJEN...that’s HOORAY in Hungarian. :-)
That and staying at the Hotel Gelert are on my wish list. :-)
Poor Hungary has already been under the damned Muslims and they do NOT ever want that again! It gets handed down, from generation to generation. The ONLY two good things that came out of it, were Paprika and when the damned Muslims left!
Maybe wonder if maybe we should have paid off President Trump but mainly worry about it when it happens. We're not completely without defenses you know.

Apparently we'd be on our own.

The principle of an alliance is that all members are expected to comply with the terms of the alliance. Under President Trump that will no longer be the case.
