I’m surprised to see that Sowell’s writings are still allowed here since he has shown that he doesn’t toe the line.
In the year 2000, the DEMOCRATS ran an ad showing a pickup truck dragging a chain behind it.
It was made clear that the real-life person dragged to his death was a black man named James Byrd - a man they tell us was partially retarded (as if that matters). He was killed by three HORRIBLE white guys - and an unspeakable crime. One of those white guys has been executed, the second one will be executed if Hillary doesn’t make it to White House to pack the Supreme Court (think about that, NeverTrumpers, and I know you are there), and the third one, who was given a life sentence without parole, for testifying against the first two.
To me, and to pretty much all Texans, THE SYSTEM WORKED. The killers were made to pay. There was NEVER any doubt regarding charging and prosecuting them - the evidence was there, and skin color of both the victim and the accused had NOTHING to do with justice - kill a man in cold blood, you pay - and justice is COLORBLIND (something that was NOT true when Democrats ran the South, by the way). This was one of the PROUDEST moments in this conservative’s life.
But that was NOT ENOUGH for the left. The reason that they ran the ad was because then-governor George W. Bush, who was now running for President, refused to sign a ‘hate crimes’ bill in Texas that included LGBTQs. He correctly made the case that justice already works in his state. Yet the Democrats ran that ad anyway, NATIONALLY, and both got the black vote out, and made sure it was polarized against Bush.
This is how they operate - there is NO COMPROMISE - they must be DEFEATED, once and for all.
As long as the black vote is 95% for the Bolshies, blacks will achieve nothing. If their vote were competitive they might have a chance of getting something.
Democrats must not only continue to get nine-tenths of black votes, they also need to get a high turnout of black voters on election day.
People who expected the election of President Barack Obama to lead to racial healing and a post-racial society failed to take account of the political reality that racial healing and a post-racial society would, at a minimum, reduce black voter turnout.
