No one on the Big Island has been issued a concealed carry license and that is unlikely to change any time soon in the wake of a recent Ninth Circuit Court ruling, attorneys say.
The ruling made clear that states can continue to require applicants for concealed carry permits prove they have a need for the weapon, which is what Hawaii has been doing for years.
“There is no Second Amendment right for members of the general public to carry concealed firearms in public,” the Ninth Circuit Court opined in the case of Peruta vs. San Diego. The Circuit covers Hawaii, California and other western states, and the decision was released June 9.

Constitutionally speaking, no permit can be required to keep AND BEAR arms. Period. End of file.
Not once, by anyone in an entire state, has anyone shown any need, in any set of circumstances, in an entire decade, for concealed carry? That seems like a very clear instance of personal prejudice of the Justices and authorities, and should be actionable.
Carry them anyway.

All Public Servants t5hat do not have a “Legal Duty” to protect the Citizenry, shall be Prohibited from carrying on their person any concealed firearm or ammunition while not officially on duty.
I guess they believe the Pearl Harbor attack occurred because someone on base forgot to put up the “No Bombs” sign.
Also runs directly against current SCOTUS precedent IMHO. Think they are betting on Hillary to win and to appoint Justices who will gut the 2nd Amendment before this case is heard on appeal.

In states that don’t permit them, yup. In states that do, may as well go through the process for the extra legal protection. JMHO.
“Shall not be infringed” has no meaning to liberals.
The primary is over and Trump won. I don’t think we should be helping the Demonrats by “qualifying” our support for Trump.
If you don’t support Trump and want Hillary that is fine - post accordingly. If you do support Trump then support him fully and emphasize those qualities and positions that you approve of and save your reservations for after the election. We need to everything we can to drive the communists into the political wilderness.

There is a significant difference, and one that Hawaii might fail on in its appeal.
The 9th circuit en banc decision was very narrow. It said that the state could essentially ban *concealed carry*. It very carefully split hairs and twisted and weaseled so as to ignore open carry.
The Hawaii law covers both concealed carry *and* open carry.
The Ninth will not be able to use the precedent from Peruta on the Hawaii law, or at least, it will be extremely difficult.
BtW, I wouldn’t support Hitlery if someone paid me a billion$ to do so. Not kidding. Value my soul more than that.
Positing that Trump is not perfect is far from opposing or failing to support him.
According to my faith and belief, only two perfect beings have been on this ball of dirt physically: God in the Garden and Christ. (Technically the same entity, just in different forms.)

By what logic (in the REAL-world) does needing to show cause NOT equate to infringement??
Not that I expect the fruits in HI, let alone the 9th Circus, to care about the Constitution...
