The truth is that in 2016 virtually NO phone call is secure.

Cell calls and calls on web services like Ooma and Vonage use VOIP protocols where the signal is turned into data packets and sent over the internet. These packets can be intercepted, stored, and reassembled into an audio file.

Even traditional land-line phones generally use VOIP for the long-distance part of their transmission.

As to most modern voice mail systems.
