According to local news, someone turned a key that wasn’t supposed to be turned, and the elevator stopped.
After a few minutes they figured out what was wrong, turned the key to the correct position and the elevator continued on.
No report of climbing a ladder, I think that was just made up.
The Mining Exchange Hotel has named the elevator ‘The Trumpster’.
If the local news report is true, there was no ladder, no need for firefighters and no rescue.
Would love for the local story to be confirmed—then clearly, once again CNN has lied.
