Donald J. Trump, confronting a daunting electoral map and a significant financial disadvantage, is preparing to fall back from an expansive national campaign and concentrate the bulk of his time and money on just three or four states that his campaign believes he must sweep in order to win the presidency.
Even as Mr. Trump has ticked up in national polls in recent weeks, senior Republicans say his path to the 270 Electoral College votes needed for election has remained narrow and may have grown even more precarious. It now looks exceedingly difficult for him to assemble even the barest Electoral College majority without beating Hillary Clinton in a trifecta of the biggest swing states: Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
President Obama won all three states in 2008 and 2012, and no Republican has won Pennsylvania in nearly three decades.
With a divisive campaign message that has alienated many women and Hispanics, Mr. Trump appears to have pushed several traditional swing states out of his own reach. According to strategists on both sides of the race, polling indicates that Mrs. Clinton has a solid upper hand in Colorado and Virginia, the home state of Senator Tim Kaine, her running mate. Both states voted twice for George W. Bush, who assiduously courted Hispanic voters and suburban moderates.

Why did Trump go to Colorado?
Trump has the energy and tempo to campaign hard in Virginia without neglecting those three. I would even argue that he can journey into NY, NJ, and stir up some dust just to make her blow money on ads in those states.
In order to win PA he will have to put out poll watchers the two big cities because they will steal it (again).
Another bullsh!t article by the nyt trying to sway the election.
The NY Slimes straining every last bit of their bias to try and get Hillary across the finish line first, and to depress turnout on our side. Three more months of this biased, leftist MSM excrement. Even when Trump wins the Democrats and their GOP establishment fellow globalists will be on the warpath with their media butt lickers in tow with a new assignment- to get Trump impeached!
WI, KS, & NC probably out of play now with the judges ruling as they did. Va. might be tough also.
Yes but it has to start in the House which they will not capture.
So resistance is futile. Next week, the Slimes will tell Trump’s voters to throw in the towel and vote for the winner, Mrs. Bill Clinton. They must not know there are 100 days left in this campaign...and Assange has all those emails for voters to read.
Crooked Hillary counts on Wall Street for donations. I’ll NEVER be bought and sold by them. My supporters are the BEST because they’re every day Americans! Together, we WILL Make America Great Again!

“senior Republicans say... “
IOW: “We have no idea!”
Remember last year when there was a new theory about Trump’s candidacy every day? And how long he would last before he dropped out to avoid the stigma of losing? And how he was doing it all for the witch? And how he was doing it all just for the attention? etc. etc.
This is just a continuation of that. They will slice and dice until election day, trying to discourage Trump’s supporters and trying to give fodder for his opponents.
I guess that is why Trump did 2 rallies in Colorado on Friday, and Pence will be campaigning in Nevada, and Virginia this week, and campaigned in Michigan and Wisconsin just 2 days ago.
You think Kansas will go for Hillary?
Slight typo, should have read
"señor Republicans say..."
Señor ¿Jeb?, Señor McCain, Señor Ryan, Señor McConnel, Señor Cruz...
I believe there more swing states in play than just those three.
Why did Trump go to Colorado?
To get stuck in an elevator!
I got a survey call and told them the only way I would vote for a democrat would be with a gun to my head and that those people should be in jail. I am going to have to turn my phone off.
I think Trump wins easily, but the Senate is up for grabs. His presidency will be a constant battle between trying to pass legislation and avoiding an impeachment trial if the Republicans lose control.
IOW: We have no idea!
Perhaps more likely: "$H|+ we made up!"
There are a lot of illegals in Kansas. With no i.d. required to vote not looking good.
