Trump on Offense

For Donald Trump’s critics, it’s not just that they disagree with the man and his policies. It’s more that they find him offensive.

There’s a reason for this: Mr. Trump is a man who is perpetually on offense.

Think of him as the Kevin Kelley of politics. Mr. Kelley coaches football for Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, Ark. He’s gained national fame as the coach who almost never punts. Coach Kelley believes that remaining on offense (keeping possession of the ball) is more important than defense (trying to deny an opponent field position).

So he goes for it on fourth down even in his own territory. As a result, Mr. Kelley gives his offense four plays to gain 10 yards instead of three. Just as important, his all-offense approach gives his Bruins a psychological edge.

*snip*

Never before have Democrats faced a Republican nominee who is so relentlessly on offense.

They haven’t quite figured out how best to respond. At their convention in Philly, Democrats tried presenting the repellent Mr. Trump as a break from all those decent Republicans of the past.

Hmmm. Anyone remember election year 2000, when the NAACP ran an ad implying George W. Bush was OK with lynching? It exploited the brutal murder of an African-American in Texas who had been beaten, chained to the back of a pickup truck, and then dragged through the streets. In a voice-over, the murdered man’s daughter says, “So when Governor George W. Bush refused to support hate-crimes legislation, it was like my father was killed all over again.”

Where were the keepers of public respectability then, warning that anyone who didn’t immediately renounce the NAACP for this smear would be forever tainted?

Americans don't just love a winner, we love a fighter. A winner who wins without fighting is just lucky. A fighter, even when he loses, is still a winner.

Trump's a fighter.

Unfortunately the Republican party is always on defense and bashes Trump whenever possible

Those ‘decent’ republicans of the past would let and allow the left in labeling them anyway they wanted. The GOP would roll back and let them....remember the “war on women” in 2012? Romney let it happen.

Can you imagine if Jeb or Rubio was the nominee now? The exact same thing would happen. Those ‘decent’ republicans wpuld take high road so often that they would take themselves out of the race,.

That is why Trump is different and the democrats are nervous. They thought they got him with Khan.....is not happening.

"My men don't surrender", Patton continued, "I don't want to hear of any soldier under my command being captured unless he has been hit. Even if you are hit, you can still fight back. That's not just bull shit either. The kind of man that I want in my command is just like the lieutenant in Libya, who, with a Luger against his chest, jerked off his helmet, swept the gun aside with one hand, and busted the hell out of the Kraut with his helmet. Then he jumped on the gun and went out and killed another German before they knew what the hell was coming off. And, all of that time, this man had a bullet through a lung. There was a real man!"

Nice Guy Republicans like Ryan, McConnell and McCain find Trump repellent because he refuses to allow himself to be painted into a corner. He gives as good as he gets.

Now he’s at war not only with Hillary and the Left but also with CNN.

Whether he wins or loses in the fall, I love a guy who stands up for himself. Most Republicans fear giving offense. Trump just fights on.

And we need it more than ever in our age of stultifying political correctness.

The U.S. growth rate for the second quarter was 1.2%. Has anyone heard Trump mention it?

The Democrats have been evil since I started to follow politics during HW Bush. The nasty party with a propaganda press I noticed even back then as someone just wanting to learn about politics and not having a party. Someone like Trump has been needed for a long time. The Republicans going after Trump for nastiness are ironically the ones so silent against the vile Democrats. Never forgetting this and they have no moral high ground. They are straight up traitors to this country.

For the last 13 months the dems and the media lapdogs have attempted to turn Trump’s every utterance into either a scandal or controversy. Just in the last few days we saw endless chattering about “plagiarism”, then it was about Russia and Putin, and not about the great Khan-job. We’ve even seen nude photos of his wife on the front page of a newspaper. All this is to distract attention away from Clinton’s illegal, reckless, extreme carelessness, and her steady stream of lies.

I wonder what the media would be saying if Trump had to have a stool or chair at his events, and looked as unwell as Clinton does on a regular basis? I remember in 2008 they made much of McCain’s bloated face, and their clamor for Palin’s medical records.

Trump will be proven right about Hillary and Democrat policies. The Muslim problem isn’t going away and will explode the next few years even more at home. The immigration problem will continue to bring down our country so all calls of racism and bigotry are really going to come back around at them. The never Trump losers will be in no better position and will own Hillary’s final destruction of this country.

They have pummeled Trump with controversy after controversy after controversy for over a year... and it isn’t working.

The Left and the establishment are in sheer panic. Their cooked polls for Hillary can’t change the fact Trump is the dominant figure in the race.

And Americans love a guy who kicks ass. Democrats are not used to Trump because they figure a Republican always preemptively surrenders.

Trump is still blasting away on all cylinders. This election is fun!

Refreshing to have a guy on our side who can be every bit on offense as the other side is - our guys tend to take a beating and then claim "the moral high ground" by refusing to attack back - recipe for a continuing losing set of seasons....

GO TRUMP!!!

A big economic speech is in the works. It’s been mentioned by his financial advisers as well as Paul M. Trump may be keeping his power dry.

The non-ideological Trump is proving that it’s not just RINOS in the GOP who are spineless in fighting back against the Democrats. There are many so called conservatives who are just cowardly. This whole Khan episode proves it. I listened to Rush go on for an hour and a half yesterday saying what a big mistake Trump made in this and I saw the same thing here and on other conservative blog sites. By going on offense Trump shone the light on Mr. Khan and his nefarious ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. We’re been waiting for someone since Reagan to fight these people and Trump is doing it. Those who wet their pants every time Trump opens his mouth should just tune out from the news until Election Day or else you’ll have ulcers by then.

Yea if he has it hasn’t gotten repeated in the press...

Not sure why Trump is getting bogged down with this gold star thing... I know the press wants to keep it alive but has Trump moved on and the press is still clinging to it? Or is Trump still focused on that.

Is he waiting for his moment? When he has the full spotlight to offer “what do you mean I attack Gold Star families? Hillary Clinton has been calling a golf star mother a liar publicly for years now and you guys haven’t said two words to her about it?”

If Trump is truly still on this whole gold star thing, I want to believe he has a reason... Just want to see what the end game is with it.

Also, they've never had a Republican nominee that is using Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter so extensively to effectively bypass the filter of the MSM. And that bothers the generally Left-leaning MSM outlets to no end.

And the owners of Faceboo, Snapchat and Twitter are well-aware any attempt to censor Trump could lead into ugly spats over free speech issues.
