Kimbers seem to have that reputation (along with Taurus).
Rock Island Armory might turn off some 1911 purists, but I’ve never had a failure with them.
I’ve been shooting Chas Daly 1911’s for many years, and only one issue with one of them...a broken extractor, less than a full mag through it. Laid that off to a defective extractor. Replaced it, and haven’t had a problem with it since then.
Love them. Range shooter, carry gun, camping gun...just a good all around firearm.
