Police sergeant fired for having a Confederate flag in front of her house
The Washington Post ^ | August 2, 2016 | Sarah Larimer

The complaint came in July, from a man who said he drove by a Georgia home and spotted the flag flying out front.

It was a Confederate flag, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, and a Roswell Police Department officer lived at the home.

“It is very difficult to explain to my daughter that we should trust our police,” the man wrote in an email, according to the newspaper. “But in the same sentiment if I were to ever be pulled over or some situation where my family needs the police to protect and serve, my first thought/fear is that it may be the officer proudly flying his/her Confederate flag.”

The Journal-Constitution reports that the officer who lives in the home, Silvia Cotriss, has since been fired from her job as a police sergeant. She told the newspaper that she didn’t realize that some found the flag to be offensive; she’ll reportedly appeal the termination.

I have trouble trusting Democrats after I saw them waving Palestinian and Soviet flags at their convention.

““It is very difficult to explain to my daughter that we should trust our police,” “

Given enough analysis, the true problem comes out.

Screw this guy. If his family runs into danger, he should pick up the phone and call a community organizer.

These people are proud of their KKK grand dragon senator.

And they mopped the floor with the only senator who ever had anything nice to say about Israel.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that these animals get away with this.

But there probably would not have been a problem if the officer did have a Soviet or Palestinian or Mexican or Pride flag flying in her yard.

Otherwise, whatever you do don’t explain to her that other people’s freedom of expression may offend us personally, too.
Or, that our own expressions may offend other.
But that doesn’t mean you call their boss’s up and get them fired. Unless you are a total commie a-haole!

And when the detectives told her that the flag had been a symbol used by Dylann Roof, who [is accused of executing] nine African American church worshipers in Charleston, S.C., according to the report, she said she was “not aware of its relation to the shooting."

I have to admit, I'd be just as confused as her. What does some doofus she doesn't personally know shooting some people over a year ago have to do with absolutely anything?

The same crowd that shrieks "not all Muslims!" after all their mass murderers apparently believes no one can have a Confederate flag again because of Dylann Roof.

What if several million southerners decided to put the flag out front.

Would they arrest several million.

That they were able to remove flags and manuments with such ease made and makes me very sad.

Call up their boss and tell him that you know what they are thinking, and it is offensive; they should be fired.

If asked for proof, submit that they have a job. That means that they trust the capitalist system, and believe in supporting ones self.

That should result in hanging, after firing.

So can we then not trust folks with black panther emblems and muslim crescent insignias?

Good grief.

This whole concept of demanding to be non-offended is not constitutional. And it’s one way. It’s not even consistent. That is what is incredibly evil and wicked about it. They claim it is and everyone breathing knows it is not. Even more wicked because of this.

Try one of the other four official Confederate flags, and NOT the Battle Flag. Those who know the difference will recognize it and others won’t understand. It’s “code”.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_the_Confederate_States_of_America

The sentiment that was popular in the late 60's was "Love it or leave it."

That very sentiment is appropriate for this weaselly cupcake of a father who can't function as an adult because someone is flying the Confederate flag in their yard? Hey a**hole, you live in the South. Get used to it. Only liberals object to the Confederate flag.

The guy would pee his panties if he lived around here where I live in rural Florida Confederate flags are all over the place. You can't escape the Confederate flag in the South.

What is most astonishing is that the lady lost her job because she was flying the flag in her own yard? It's not illegal. It's not outlawed. I think the police department has some explaining to do. Seems like they violated this gal's right to free speech.

re: she didn’t realize that some found the flag to be offensive

With that statement she proves herself unqualified to be a police intern, certainly not a sergeant.

“I have a masonry frog in my front yard”

Well, you are obviously a frog worshiping pagan...so you are safe.
Frog worship is one of the protected religions. Along with tree worship, obama worship, self worship gay churches, fake science like global warming..oops i mean climate change... and any religion that chops off anyone’s head who doesn’t submit to their religion.
