A 47-Year-Registered Republican Is Throwing In The Towel: Here's Why

Via The Burning Platform,

RE: 2016 Congressional District Census

Dear Mr. Priebus:

I recently received from you a plea – your second notice – that I complete and return the survey of my views on current issues in the United States. My views would help the party develop a campaign strategy for the important weeks ahead.

I recently dropped my registration in the Republican Party, so my opinions are irrelevant to your survey. I do, however, hope that the views expressed in this note will be of help.

I have been a registered Republican since 1969. As I have gotten older and wiser, it has become apparent to me that the GOP is the second head (a donkey represents the other) of a creature that is run by wealthy, powerful, and evil entities which have gained control of nearly every institution and business in this country. Oh, the heads squabble dramatically for the voters, and are fairly successful in convincing us that they really have a different agenda for the future, but the charade is wearing thin. The emperor’s clothes are fading away. Enter Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, offering some truth that the powers-that-be find intolerable. I understand that none of this is news to you.

I cannot in good conscience support the Republican Party any longer. The attempts by a number of party leaders to undermine the primary process and otherwise derail the instincts of the voters who favor Mr. Trump is the last straw in a decades-long growing frustration with the apparent impotence of the Republicans. No impact on the progressive agenda as it has unfolded, even now, after nearly two years of control of the House and Senate, must lead to the inescapable conclusion that the GOP is cooperating with that agenda.

I am done with being lied to by party leaders.

As some leaders of the GOP have started expressing preference for Hillary Clinton over Mr. Trump, their true allegiance to the aforementioned powers rather than the American people becomes obvious. Their self-righteous condemnation of Trump’s views and persona only strengthen his popularity, because a lot of people, like me, are no longer impressed by anything these people have to say and assume the opposite must be true. I am always amused by complaints that Mr. Trump is a boorish, clumsy speaker. How many smooth-talking politicians have screwed over the American people during the past 50 years? I offer up our current president as a prime example, and I regret that Paul Ryan falls in the same category.

These are difficult times for our country and the world. It would help if there existed a political party that actually possessed a modicum of integrity and would actually fight for a healthy economy and a foreign policy that was based on some sort of realistic assessment of America’s place in the world. I suggest the reform of the GOP into an organization that actually pursues the values it espouses would change everything.

Sincerely...

There used to be a word for people who put their own interests ahead of Country to the extent of personal enrichment for actions that damaged said Country...”Traitor”. In an era when words have lost meaning this one has been hurt the most.

I am a registered republican. I cannot vote in the primaries here if I am not a registered for a party. I won't vote for Dhimmicrats, so I will remain a registered republican.

I can't express in words how much I hate the Republican Party. I can't express in words how much I LOATHE and gag with DISGUST at the thought of the Dhimmicrats.

Well said.
That word describes most every Democrat, RINO, and powers-that-be elite who are ruining our country.
HRC Must Not be elected.

What I don’t understand is that if these so-called #NeverTrump people would allow Trump, powered by We the People, to take the chains off this country, the world would still be their oyster for most of them anyway.

No one is saying they can’t be rich and enjoy all the boys, girls, money, private jets, beaches, and rich, delicious food they want.

Just leave the rest of us alone to live a peaceable and productive life! Why can’t they do that?

When I was first eligible to vote I knew I hated Democrats and was a conservative and was definitely more Republican, but I thought what if certain people get in charge and it’s not what I’d support and I just thought better to register Independent and could I have not been more correct in that. My first vote was for Dole. It was great to see that great patriot at the convention realizing what evil we are facing if Hillary gets in. Ironic I once admired the Bushes and to see what disgraces they are. Republicans have let Obama and Democrats get away with too much and to see them going hard against Trump says everything about them.

On the 2nd of June 1787 Dr. Benjamin Franklin warned the Constitutional Convention about this kind of situation arising.

This is the 2nd paragraph of that speech, the bolding is mine;

"Sir, there are two passions which have a powerful influence on the affairs of men. These are ambition and avarice; the love of power, and the love of money. Separately each of these has great force in prompting men to action; but when united in view of the same object, they have in many minds the most violent effects. Place before the eyes of such men, a post of honour that shall be at the same time a place of profit, and they will move heaven and earth to obtain it. The vast number of such places it is that renders the British Government so tempestuous. The struggles for them are the true sources of all those factions which are perpetually dividing the Nation, distracting its Councils, hurrying sometimes into fruitless & mischievous wars, and often compelling a submission to dishonorable terms of peace. And of what kind are the men that will strive for this profitable pre- eminence, through all the bustle of cabal, the heat of contention, the infinite mutual abuse of parties, tearing to pieces the best of characters? It will not be the wise and moderate; the lovers of peace and good order, the men fittest for the trust. It will be the bold and the violent, the men of strong passions and indefatigable activity in their selfish pursuits. These will thrust themselves into your Government and be your rulers. -And these too will be mistaken in the expected happiness of their situation: For their vanquished competitors of the same spirit, and from the same motives will perpetually be endeavouring to distress their administration, thwart their measures, and render them odious to the people."

After the Convention the good Dr. warned us further;

"A republic, if you can keep it."

Until this year, the globalist elitist backstabbers were imploring us to vote for "the lesser of two evils", thus acknowledging that they're evil. They also vilified us for not getting involved and choosing candidates we'd prefer.

Mygosh, look what happened. We voters chose a nominee who isn't evil. So now they want to destroy the will of their voting fodder, and think we'll still vote for them? It's not gonna' happen. Trump has to win, or the nation is goin' down. Under that situation, let the dems have it all!!

They should think hard about the logical outcome if voting isn't allowed to affect the suicidal path the US, and all of western civilization, is following.

...I am done with being lied to by party leaders...

The same goes for those we elect to office.
It goes for both parties. From Republican promises made to be elected and then forgotten, to those whose lives are based on continuous, never ending lies like Hillary.
No wonder the country is so cynical.

Yet you don’t align with another party and/or work to make it a viable alternative to the two major parties. Why not?

What party are you organizing? Who’s your candidate? Who is funding you?

Those are stupid questions, but I’ll answer them you nitwit.

I am a strong Trump supporter. Nobody is paying me. I am not organizing anything.

Anther party is the logical conclusion anyone would come to who feels the way you say you do.

Grow up b!tch.
