What is DEF?
“What is DEF?”
Diesel Emission Fluid - it’s out there on the web. Basically an employee urinates into a container, they throw some blue dye in, and sell it to lower emissions. Well, maybe not quite, but it does work, from what I understand and I think it’s the only way to get any diesel vehicle now to pass emissions.
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-hazardous solution, which is 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water. DEF is sprayed into the exhaust stream of diesel vehicles to break down dangerous NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water.
Have a nice day.
