Aaron Driver planned to commit a terror attack with 72 hours when he was killed in a confrontation with police in the southwestern Ontario community of Strathroy, police said today.
“Obviously it was a race against time,” RCMP Deputy-Commander Mike Cabana told a news conference in Ottawa today, noting that things “could have been a lot worse” if police hadn’t located and stopped Driver.
The RCMP showed a video at the news conference in which a masked man they identified as Driver, 24, warns, “O Canada, you received many warnings… You were told many times what would happen.”

I read a book on a gold mine murder which took place up in Yellowknife, NWT back in the 1990s. What the RCMP did was basically set up shop in town and started questioning everyone who was even a remotely possible suspect without worrying about being sued for profiling or some other bull$#*+ charge.
Once the got the list down to a manageable number of people, says two dozen or so, they would keep questioning or tracking them.
Eventually, the number got whittled down to a half dozen or less and one of them would break, usually with clues that the bigger group of suspects would arrange to leave, often secretly, because they had gotten tired of the repeated questioning and tracking.
I'm guessing this Aaron guy was a lot easier to find because he left more clues. Being a dumb$#*+ loser who left threats around certainly didn't hurt the investigation either.
He was only arrested because he violated the law by not also posting the message in French.
Back in the days of Quake in the 90s. IIRC the game was made in the Phillipines. The aliens proclaimed, “All yuor base are belong to us”. The when defeated they would say, “Some one set us up the bomb”.
You had to spell yuor that way. When we played Quake there was no comm but you could text. We all had those phrases hot keyed so you could send them with a keystroke.
This young man does not look like the typical radicalized islimeick nutjob.
