No bribe, says they attempted to influence through amicus briefings and a media barrage.

But here's the issue this highlights. The SCOTUS judges are appointed for life, ostensibly so they will be immune to politics. But that has failed miserably, they are very political beasts. The pretzel logic that Roberts has been applying to block every challenge to Obama is proof enough of that. So they are political but we're still stuck with lifetime appointments and hence no accountability.

The SCOTUS judges need to be term limited. They have seized too much power for themselves to be permitted to remain unaccountable in any way. It will take an amendment but by God we need it if we have any hope at all of salvaging our republic.
