Libs Gone Insane: Obsessed with Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll
newsbusters.org ^ | 8/19/2016 | Dan Gainor

Editor’s Note: Normal people might find some of this offensive. (We hope.)

A regular read of liberal websites calls to mind the famous Ian Drury and the Blockheads song, “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll.” To quote the late punker, that’s “all my brain and body need.” Throw in politics and hating on conservatives and you have just defined every liberal website of any significance.

Where would sites like HuffPo or, God help us, Cosmo, be without weird and freaky sex stories? Next, remember that liberals are even ahead of libertarians in the pro-drug movement. Whether it’s pot or peyote, the left wants us all on it. You’d think they had read Brave New World and wanted the populace stoned out on Soma. (Hint: They have and they do.) Think music, though admittedly not rock ‘n’ roll, and you get HuffPo highlighting the Dixie Chicks lead singer bashing Trump.

Hmmm. Yeah, libs are frickin' insane. But, as far as rock and roll, one band for sure ain't lib. We went to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert last night here in Reno. Patriotic/southern pride as hell. Energy was "BOOM!" despite them doing this for decades. They God blessed active and former military, emergency responders. The stars and bars were on kinda display with the comment "Heritage, not hate people!" Then the stars and stripes came out with chants of USA, USA, USA. With a call to make sure you go out and vote in Nov for the can't-i-date of your choice but they seemed pretty sure of who they were voting for. (Not a "d" behind the name) If you get a chance, go. Yeah, they played all the stuff the crowd wanted to hear. Thanks guys, you rocked it. All ages in attendance.

“liberals are even ahead of libertarians in the pro-drug movement”

A quibble: Libertarians might be the foremost advocates for liberalization of laws, but today’s liberals would be the foremost advocates for the actual usage, and in the case of prescription drugs, by state mandate when “necessary”.

Of recent. But earlier...

Mr. Saturday Night Special
Got a barrel that's blue and cold
It ain't good for nothin'
But put a man six feet in a hole

Thankfully they've become conservative since their beginnings.

Combine that with Orwell’s “Two Minutes of Hate” and you have the Democrat Party’s appeal to progs in a nutshell.

Rap has usurped Rock for liberals. Back in the day, rock was rebellious, but appears quite constrained when compared to rap. All generations wrestle with musical divides, but the breadth of that gap has increased exponentially. Rap is leftist music filled with hatred that defies all bounds—just like its leftist fans. They don’t disagree with you; they personally hate you.

Yeah, that song always did rub me the wrong way. But it is what is was. Yeah, I think they count their blessings these days.

Ian Drury and the Blockheads also did “Reasons to be Cheerful” and “Hit Me with Your Rhythm Sticks”.

Sex and drugs and rock&roll aren’t the problems with libs. It’s them trying to force everybody to follow their rules for SDR&R.

“Any of the originals still alive?”

Gary Rossignton is the only original member. One could make arguments for Ricky Medlock, who was there early on but went on to Blackfoot, and has been touring with Skynyrd for years now.

I have never personally known a Democrat who was not simply childish in their inner-most being. All of them that I know even today, even those in their dotage, live in a fantasy world. The most naive people on the planet. Dangerous too.

Sex, Drugs, ‘n’ Rock ‘n’ Roll are three of my favorite things, but you have to maintain your perspective, LOL.
