There was a really great and far superior competitor for Epi-pen, Avi-Q or something like that (forget the specific name) but it was smaller than a pack of cigarettes and was idiot proof. But it was recalled and taken off the market and we're forced back to the monopoly Epi-pen.

This makes me wonder if the product getting yanked was political.

• Unfortunately, Auvi-Q was recalled in 2015 and production was permanently shut down on reports (unconfirmed) of potential dosage inacuracy. The size, ease of use, and talking feature of the Auvi-Q auto injector was far superior to the size, intimidating nature of the Epi-pen.
