WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange believes America’s mainstream media are “erecting a demon” by slanting coverage in favor of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, which he accuses of “whipping up neo-McCarthyist hysteria about Russia.”
AssangeAssange’s comments came during a live interview with The New York Times over Facebook.
He said the recent notion promoted by CIA deputy director Michael Morell that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are being manipulated by Russian spies is ridiculous.
Morell, who has lived in the federal bureaucracy for more than three decades, penned an op-ed for the Times in early August that professed his admiration for Clinton and vowed to “do everything I can to ensure that she is elected our 45th president.”
According to Politico:
Morell also suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin has successfully co-opted Trump’s message in complimenting the political neophyte and getting exactly what he wanted in return with more praise even in light of his strongman tendencies toward journalists and dissidents.
“In the intelligence business, we would say that Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation,” Morell wrote.
On Wednesday, Assange told the Times Clinton is to blame for “whipping up a neo-McCarthyist hysteria about Russia.”

Seems he is doing the United States a great service. Hillary should have never been allowed anywhere near the State Department.

That is one bizarre phenomenon! At first I said to myself that phone must be playing a video, but when he showed all 3 phones all with the same empty podiums image on their screens... very weird.
The third phone clearly shows the flag. Weird though.

Caligula was very popular when he first became Emperor. "Caligula" means "Little Bootsie," a term of endearment. It wasn't long before it became clear that he was a sadistic psychopathic monster.
Um... in order for that to happen, wouldn't there have to be some dealings between Trump and Putin? Something more than just Putin saying a few things about Trump?
OTOH, Hillary's actions in taking over $100 million dollars in her "foundation" in return for giving Russia a huge chunk of our uranium supply--I suppose that seems completely honest and above-the-board to Mr. Morell.
Indeed. Watching it was a class assignment for my college roommate. I said I would watch it with her so we settled in our dorm room for a movie night. We were woefully ignorant and unprepared. I remember we both sobbed our way through it and sat there in horror.
Everyone should, at some point, watch it.
