Yes, I do! To maintain credibilty with the citizens of this country, he needs to make sure that the Mexicans do write a check.
Maybe you should listen to him for once. He's mentioned the trade imbalance as a means ever since he's announced...

Jump up and down and stamp your feet all you want BUT, they're not going to write a check or send a plane load of cash but they will pay for the wall and he'll let them know how he did it.

BTW, the cost of the wall will only be a partial payment from them.

“There are many ways that they can pay for the wall,” Trump said, calling it a “negotiation.”

Trump has said that Mexico will pay for the wall. Mexico has said they will never pay for the wall. I'm not sure what there is to negotiate because neither side can compromise without appearing to cave in on their original position.

How much foreign aid do we give Mexico? Deduct it from that.

How is that having Mexico pay for the wall? That aid comes from U.S. taxpayers.

A 11 billion total for 4000 miles would be 2.75 million per mile. Should the wall cost that much per mile?

For a wall 35 feet tall and extending probably a similar distance underground? Plus the land? Plus the access roads and all the other infrastructure? I'd say $11 billion is a very conservative estimate.

Just to be clear I don’t mean a road INSTEAD OF the wall, I just mean that included in the wall (on our side) should be a nice highway - it will need to be traversed by security anyway, might as well get a nice new interstate out of it

If they'd just send the 'immigrants' on welfare in Texas back to Mexico where they belong, that would pay for most of the wall.
