As a lonely psychoanalyst Trump supporter, I feel the need to exercise my First Amendment right to speak up. I think the majority of my psychiatrist, psychologist, and psychiatric social worker colleagues feel dislike, distain and antipathy towards Donald Trump. Many psychologists state that he is mentally ill and could damage mental health in America. I disagree with these colleagues.
American voters usually are exposed to a variety of clever political demagoguery, obfuscations, deceptions, and a spectrum of lies from little white ones to whoppers. With Donald Trumps bombastic campaign style, a new glossary of terms is needed to understand his evolving policies and predict his way of leading and governing if elected. The new glossary would include words and concepts such as bombast, sarcasm (cruel at times), overt insults, crude personal verbal attack, hyperbolic impulsive statements to focus large group attention, paradoxical intention, mixed simultaneous use of an object as symbol and reality (i.e., a wall as the need for clear national boundaries and rules of behavior as compared to an actual wall). And, extemporaneous free associations about the powerful emotions beneath political issues, ambivalent political relationships and evolving policy statements.
The author imagines the following inner soliloquy of Donald Trump as he decided to run for president:

Based on what?
Psychiatry is not much of a science.
Based on their Progressive leanings.
Some of the craziest people are psychologists and psychiatrists.
the country should deport all the lawyers and psychologists and psychiatrists
‘Psychology’ was considered an ‘inexact science’ and ‘theoretical ‘ when I took it years ago. I was a music major, but switched to ‘criminal psychology’.
Yep. Have to agree.
ALL.
Or at least *most* of them. Seriously, some are complete whackjobs. The eye-rolling part is that they give “advice” to people who are oftentimes either vulnerable or only half whack-jobs trying to improve themself.
That’s nice to know.
I could go through each one of these whines above giving plausible and logical explanation for each one. It appears Trump understands human psychology better than these leftists.
What happened to those beliefs in the Psychoanalytical world?
I say that the the majority of psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric social workers are the ones who are mentally ill.
Some of the craziest people are psychologists and psychiatrists.
That’s the truth!
On the other hand you missed the author is a psychiatrist and a Trump supporter
LOL. Love that cartoon.
I’ve warned my kids to STAY CLEAR of that system. Just saying that one or twice a month (in a work health survey) that you don’t feel like getting up in the morning will get you an endless stream of people trying to ‘help’ you (which is really slang for trying to get inside your mind to see if you’ll be the next workplace shooter) - not to mention that all records will be in the Obamacare database.
So screw them and tell everyone that you love nothing more than getting up at 6 AM every morning for work and all else is great in your life.
You bet they are. They go into the field hoping to cure themselves.
It doesn’t work.
