I don't need to read the report. He's a convicted rapist, right? So they put two females in charge of him. And since they're women, he had not trouble taking the sidearm from one of them. And he opens up on them.
It seems to me every time I read about a courtroom or jailhouse shooting of an officer, that's what happened. Unless they only hire female Olympic judo experts--who get better job offers than that--what do they expect? Girls and middle-aged women guarding hard-core felons. What could go wrong?
Read the report. Get your fact straight.
The Brian Gene Nichols shooting spree started when he attacked the female sheriff's deputy who had charge of him. After he took her weapon, he beat her into a coma.
He then proceeded to murder four people, including the Judge who was going to preside over his trial for rape, kidnapping, and assault. He also murdered the court reporter and two other LEOs.
"Neither Davila nor Scanlan were armed as is practice, the sheriff said. Davila, a mother and grandmother, has 18 years of experience. Scanlan, a father of six, had 10 years of experience in Fresno County and previously worked in youth corrections, she said."

Exactly.
