IIRC, Adm. Flatley was the son of Adm. Flatley of WWII fame, and was also the guy who landed and took off in a C-130 aboard the USS Forrestal!

So he has guts!

That is astonishing!
I sat in the pilot seat parked on the ground of a C130 and can’t even imagine what guts that would take.

I’ve read about that. They had to clear the deck to allow the C-130 to land and take off so it was deemed to not be practical.
