Bill Clintons former CIA chief James Woolsey will act as an adviser to Donald Trumps campaign.
Woolsey, who served as director of the CIA from 1993 to 1995 and describes himself as a life-long Democrat, praised Trumps commitment to ending defense budget cuts from sequestration.
He said he cant support Hillary Clinton because of the controversy surrounding her use of a private email server as secretary of State. She demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and an inability to lead the agency she headed in such a way as to maintain its mission and security, Woolsey said in a statement.
Based on the emails thus far released we know that Secretary Clinton also lacks the ability to lead her senior managers while complying with and maintaining the basic protocols designed to protect our governments sensitive and classified information. Mr. Trump understands the magnitude of the threats we face and is holding his cards close to the vest.

Can Woolsey be trusted?
THIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS... Great choice Trump....
NO!
The prospect of a Trump win grows more credible by the hour.
I guess we will find out. One thing for sure: He isn’t going to get the news publicity that turncoats like Henry Paulson will. I’m sure Colin Powell’s endorsement for Hillary will take place in October, if not before.
From Trump announcement posted elsewhere on FR:
Amb. R. James Woolsey stated, I have been a Scoop Jackson, Joe Lieberman, Democrat all of my adult life,....”
“Scoop Jackson” Democrats were weeded out of the Dem party after the rise of the leftists that now control it.
Wolf in sheep’s clothing. Don’t trust him.
Woolsey Relationship with Bill Clinton
As Director of the CIA, Woolsey was notable for having had limited access to President Bill Clinton. According to journalist Richard Miniter:
Never once in his two-year tenure did CIA director James Woolsey ever have a one-on-one meeting with Clinton. Even semi-private meetings were rare. They only happened twice. Woolsey told me: It wasnt that I had a bad relationship with the president. It just didnt exist.
Another quote about his relationship with Clinton, according to Paula Kaufman of Insight on the News:
Remember the guy who in 1994 crashed his plane onto the White House lawn? That was me trying to get an appointment to see President Clinton.

Woolsey was founder and president of Yale Citizens for Eugene McCarthy for President from 1967 to 1968. He was prominently active in the anti-Vietnam War movement.
Woolsey has served in the U.S. government as:
Advisor (during military service) on the U.S. Delegation to the Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT 1), Helsinki and Vienna, 19691970
General Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, 197073
Under Secretary of the Navy, 19771979
Delegate at Large to the U.S.-Soviet Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START) and Nuclear and Space Arms Talks (NST), Geneva, 19831986
Ambassador to the Negotiation on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), Vienna, 19891991
Director of CIA, 19931995
Ted Cruzs foreign policy advisor was James Woolsey.

“Can Woolsey be trusted?”
Can any spook be trusted?
Wolsey is right, and his reasoning succinct.

I would say James Woolsey knows Hillary Clinton up close and personal and has decided to join the Trump camp.
Hmm...I’d say his resume is a bit of a mixed bag. Sort of a detente kind of guy. I never liked detente. I liked Reagan’s idea.
No. You have CIA chief and Bill Clinton's in the same sentence and you need to ask?
Woolsey is a rare man. His reputation for honesty is solid. His leadership skills are spectacular.
Wrong! Woolsey may have been a fluke choice by Clinton. Woolsey is as solid as the come.
Perhaps you should research Woolsey. He is as solid as they come.
You’re welcome to hold your particular opinion. You’re not welcome to shove it down my throat.
I think Sam Nunn was probably the last true-blue
“Scoop Jackson” Democrat ever.
