When are the Republicans going to have the guts to cut the Peace Corps. The name is a silly lie because it does not keep the peace and when war comes it gets the Hades out of the way.
It was formed so Liberals could be missionaries without having to bother with all that “God stuff”.
The object was to get college-educated Americans to roll up their sleeves and jump into helping with manual labor in countries that had labor surpluses already. The net effect was to witness the American volunteers eating in fancy local restaurants that the locals could not afford.
Vietnam draft-dodging leftist Chris Matthews (and other libs) was a “proud member” of the Peace Corps. I’ve heard him say before that his work with them was as dangerous as fighting in Vietnam, so he has no regrets about not serving his country in Vietnam. I guess if he keeps repeating that lie often enough he’ll start believing it.
Peace Corps activity is a cover for CIA activity. Some people ostensibly “in Peace Corps” have fact gathering assignments. Peace Corps gives them cover and gets them places American eyes would not otherwise be allowed.
