Just days after revealing she is battling pneumonia, Hillary Clinton is the subject of a Women’s Health magazine feature.
The Democratic presidential nominee is one of 20 women profiled for the glossy mag’s second annual “Gamechangers” issue. The October issue, which hits newsstands Tuesday, profiles 20 women who have “made waves championing women’s issues in 2016.”
Asked about the biggest obstacle she’s faced while running for president, Clinton replied: “Well, for starters, the pace of a presidential campaign is nonstop! You have to stay focused on what matters most. Every time I sit down with people and hear what’s on their minds, it reminds me why I’m running in the first place.
“And the truth is, in the heat of a campaign, in a culture that rewards brevity and clever phrases on social media, it can be really tempting to give simple answers to complex problems. That’s never been my style,” Clinton said, recycling a line she delivered in a June speech.
In the full-page feature, Clinton touted how she would “change the game” for women if elected.
“We need a president who not only understands the complex challenges facing women in America but also has a real plan to confront those challenges.”
The timing of the health magazine feature may prove a bit awkward for the Clinton camp.
