The ambassadorships I can understand. This happens all the time, and a U.S. ambassadorship isn't even a serious position anyway. It's an ego trip for wealthy people.

What gets me is that some dude paid $3.5M to get appointed to the top FCC position -- which probably pays no more than $175,000/year. I'd really love to know what the quid pro quo arrangement was in THAT case.

Ambassador posts are one thing. Posts with extra-judicial authority or other inrichment like Jeh bought are another. When someone pays 3.5 million to run the FCC you want to know what they bought.

Well, yes, but after they serve their term of, what....4 to 8 years....don’t they continue to receive that salary for life? I think I could get by on a-buck-seventy-five per year.

I suspect Republicans do something similar. This pay to play stuff may be a big reason why so many are against Trump..because he won’t do it. And not doing it as significant ripple effects on both sides

He may also open a big can of worms on it.

Yeah $561K. It makes me wonder WH these guys earn so much that they can just shell out $500K for a donation no problem. I guess I was just never the type to make money like that but at least I know mine was earned honestly.

That’s not how a Federal pension works. Elected officials might be different, but appointed bureaucratic positions aren’t like that.

Why would anyone spend $10 million to run for congress and get paid $200K?

The answer is that they get a ROI on that ten million for life with bribes, swindling, insider trading, money laundering, and "pay to play" scams.

It's disgusting. As long as they kick enough upstairs like a Soprano organization, they will not be subject to laws. Right Mr.Comey?

Darn tootin'. Just not so bold as to to funnel all the funds through the same chokepoint.

He may also open a big can of worms on it.

This is the reason I will vote for him, even though I'm convinced the American electorial system of today is a farce.

I may no longer believe in the integrity of the vote, but as an American citizen it is my duty to participate.

They KNOW there’s a return on their investment.

As we can all guess, he was banking on getting more than his investment back, in various forms.

Wireless companies paying a ton to secure frequency ranges, tech companies wanting priority or preference for their technology as government approved standards.
