"It is disturbing when someone defaces a house of worship in a hate crime"
Someone used black spray paint to deface two exterior walls of the Friendship Baptist Church in Springtown Monday afternoon, according to the Parker County Sheriff's Office. A reward is being offered for any information that can help deputies arrest the people who spray painted graffiti on a Parker County church.
According to Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler, someone used black spray paint to deface two exterior walls of the Friendship Baptist Church in Springtown Monday afternoon.
Images ranging from profanity, racial slurs and demonic symbols were painted on the south and west sides of the church sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., Fowler said in a statement. The graffiti was reported by a passerby who noticed the paint markings.
"This is very troublesome," Fowler said in the statement. "It is disturbing when someone defaces a house of worship in a hate crime. This incident is at the top of the list for unspeakable acts."
Church members and volunteers scrubbed the paint off the walls after the damage was documented by investigators.
The same church was targeted in another incident in which someone placed rocks and gravel in the shape of a pentagram about two months ago, Fowler said.
The graffiti charge was considered a state jail felony because the targeted building is a house of worship and the damage was more than $750, according to state law.
Parker County Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information that can lead to an arrest or indictment to call 817-599-5555, or see the online page for more information. All submissions remain anonymous.
There is no way this will be enhanced to a hate crime, because this is a Christian church.
Apparently they believe in Satan but not God.
It shouldn’t be too hard to find the numbskulls. Check the 19 year olds hanging out down on the corner for residual black spray paint on their fingers.
Church member or teenagerd
Either someone who is not enrolled in school -- or, was truant on Monday.
That should narrow the list of suspects...
Pretty much nails it.
FReepMail for you...
I suspect a typical Springtown tweaker.
