Also gas was unleaded or leaded. Now Flint’s water is Would you like Leaded water or Unleaded water. You have your choice. The Wixom MI Ford Car plant closed a couple years ago. Drive by that plant being developed into something else. Up here in the UP we still have the former Ford Plant in Kingsford. Also the Ford Sawmill is still in in Alberta Village, MI (Just northeast of Covington and Southeast of L’ Anse). This operational saw mill was donated by Ford to Michigan Technical University. This was Ford; Socialism experiment. Everything was right there, housing and work.
Did you know until 1952 Ford’s were made with wood. Kingsford Charcoal was an offshot of the process of cutting the ends off the oak wood used in the manufacturing process. Kingsford got its name one of Ford;s senior employees. Just think Ford’s no longer made in the USA. Ford has a huge plant in Brazil. I can remember the word Brazil on my nephew’s Ford Ranger rims.
