Donald Trump is, at heart, a showman. He rose to national fame thanks to star turns on reality TV in which he played the tough-talking boss to a group of aspirants hoping to become as successful as he has been in business. His great gift is the ability to draw attention — and then use that attention for his own, usually commercial, purposes.
Trump may have outdone himself on Friday morning. He and his campaign touted a "major" announcement at his newly-opened hotel in Washington, D.C. at 10 a.m. The word was that Trump would walk away from his past skepticism about President Obama's citizenship while also laying the blame for the birther movement at the feet of Hillary Clinton. (That, of course, isn't true — according to numerous fact-checkers — but no matter: Trump planned to say it anyway.)

Kelly Anne has been around for awhile. She is like Rush in the sense that she really understands the Democrats and their tactics. She knows what they are going to say or do before they do it.
She is an invaluable asset to Trump. If he wins we all owe her a YUGE debt of gratitude.

Ed Rollins was on with Varney this morning. For a partisan he’s a pretty straightforward guy.
He said birtherism has Hillary’s fingerprints all over it as it originated with Mark Penn. According to Rollins, in ‘08 Penn was her “principal strategist...who scripted her.”
So, there is a deep connection to the campaign.
(If the media can’t grasp this concept, there’s no hope that the real isssue over whether Obungo was a ‘natural born citizen’ will be considered.)
Trump’s people should demand that Hitlery denounce Penn - then explain his connection to the campaign.

I dream of a day when the media will just show up at events, turn on their cameras and show people what happens. Just report the news. It's simple, really. Just report.
Although that day is obviously overdue, it may just never come. The journalists want to "make" the news. They still want to be Woodward and Bernstein and bring down a big Republican. They lie, they twist, they propagandize.
