I've seen a couple of Trump's appearances where, at the end of his speech, they played "You Can't Always Get What You Want" as Trump is leaving the stage. I don't know who came up with that idea, but it's a terrible choice to use as campaign music.

for insinuating he’s an inferior option for their candidate.

I think using satisfaction as a closing theme is done as a subtext to certain people ... who I have no clue, but I’ve heard Sessions quote it back to him when he was endorsing Trump.
I always thought Trump was using that music to tweak the GOPe. It's not that we the voters can't always get what we want, but that it is the Establishment that can't always get what they want. Another example of Trump's gutsy brilliance.
