ICANN’s Budget

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ted-cruz-kinda-sorta-something-091500132.html.

“This obscure organization has enjoyed revenues of nearly $600 million in the last three years, with one of the highest-paid executive teams in the non-profit world. They’ve spent over $400 million on salaries, consulting and lobbying fees and travel expenses over that three-year period, an incredible burn rate. That includes consulting firms run by Condi Rice and Madeleine Albright, $17.8 million annually for its auditor Ernst & Young and another $6 million for external legal advice.”

Condi Rice and Madam Albright both run consultant firms that assisted the lobby effort.

In-depth research on ICANN’s lobbying that include both Condi Rice and Albright ...

http://www.circleid.com/posts/20160301_how_much_has_icann_spent_on_the_iana_transition

Not so the $1.35m spent on “professional services” which is almost entirely made up of the lobbying firms ICANN has hired in Washington: Albright Stonebridge Group, Rice Hadley Gates, Summit Strategies International, WBC Global and Wiley Rein.

That $1.35m is on top of the $946,000 spent on registered lobbying groups. The $800,000 that ICANN spends on its in-house lobbyist is not mentioned.

Also “language services” is very high at $1.7m. Why? Because for some reason “meeting support” has been added to that sub-group. What does this cover? Probably flights, accommodation and dinners. But again, the figures are not broken out to any useful degree.

Also why is ICANN paying $1m for “secretarial support” when most of that support is provided by staff already on salary?

The reports are specifically designed to hide expenses that the community may have questions about. They are also broken out in 18-month chunks for some inexplicable reason, rather than by fiscal year as it common practice.

ICANN Transition Even Endangers ‘.gov’ and ‘.mil’
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3469586/posts

ICANN transition insider Paul Rosenweig warns:

1. Foreign powers will “indisputably have increased influence”.
2. Transition a “leap in the dark”.
3. ICANN planning to move overseas.
4. ‘.gov’ and ‘.mil’ “not assured by any enforeable mechanism”.

So no domain name is safe.

Who is Paul Rosenweig?

He was invited to testify at yesterday’s “internet giveaway” hearing because of his involvement and extensive background:

1. Department of Homeland — deputy assistant secretary for policy.

2. Currently he runs a consulting organization for Homeland.

3. Rosenweig authored and edited numerous books on cyber-security and freedom of speech. [He also produced DVDs on those subjects.]

4. As for his politics, He’s been writing Heritage Foundation columns all the way back to 1977.

[Back in March. It’s not the relevant chairmen stonewalling the Senate. It goes higher than that.]

Cruz, Lankford, and Lee Raise New Concerns About ICANN’s Relationship with Authoritarian China
https://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=2603

“Mr. Chehadé’s participation resulted in an agreement to co-chair a high-level advisory committee for the conference, which could make ICANN complicit in the Chinese censorship regime. Since sending our letter, additional evidence has come to light suggesting that ICANN’s relationship with the Chinese government may be a systemic problem within the organization itself and not limited to a single individual.”

[snip]

“Fadi Chehadé has been called on to recuse himself from all discussions and negotiations pertaining to the IANA transition given a confirmed personal conflict of interest with the Chinese government. Has ICANN taken any action to ensure that Fadi Chade will recuse himself from the IANA transition? If no, please describe the reason for ICANN’s inaction.”

[snip]

When ICANN announced it was opening its first global engagement office in Beijing, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) stated that it would “invest necessary human and material resources in the construction of the center and actively carry out its functions including the coordination, communication, as well as operation in order to provide effective, long-term and stable services for ICANN to serve China’s Internet industry.” Please provide yes-or-no answers to the following questions:

a. Did CNNIC invest human and material resources in the construction of ICANN’s global engagement office in Beijing?

b. Is CNNIC actively carrying out the functions, coordination, communication, or operation of ICANN’s global engagement office in Beijing?

c. Do any individuals associated with CNNIC or the Chinese government have a formal or informal role in ICANN’s global engagement office in Beijing?

ICANN currently lists the address for each hub office and engagement office on its website except for the engagement office in Beijing.[21] Please provide the address of ICANN’s engagement office in Beijing.

The Horse’s Mouth — Transcript of Professional Witness Testimony
http://www.judiciary.senate.gov/download/09-14-16-rosenzweig-testimony

[Very thick but useful for word searches.]

Paul Rosenzweig is the only witness I had time to study on short notice.

If one source fails to suffice he refers to “my Heritage colleague Brett Schaefer”.

The page also adds links to back up each of his claims in the testimony.

Rosenzweig goes on at length about what a joke the “Empowered Community” is. If you google for other sources, bear in mind they often abbrievate it to ‘the community’. The word ‘empowered’ is dropped most of the time.

Ping. Condi Rice and Albright part of the lobby effort. Most likely involved in foreign outreach.

Good one!

Hillary’s gatekeeper could hide in a toilet.

On January 27, 1998 — ten days after Matt Drudge broke the Monica Lewinsky story — Hillary Clinton told reporters at a White House press conference that the Internet needed an “editing function or gatekeeping function”.

From above:

” ... if this contract unravels we could theoretically see overlapping domain name registration systems dueling with each other minute-by-minute. Sounds ‘kool’, right? Almost like a ‘Firesale’ that Cloward and Piven would envy.

“And ICANN has ‘the know-how’. This is key to remember.”

A. They will ponder hate speech enforcement. With their power to delete website property, they can either fine or wipe out any website that the globalists and their drones get mad at.

Kind of doubtful. They can't really control individual DNS servers within top level domains. What they could do is what you mention, throttle or cut off access for an entire TLD like .mil or .gov And others that I won't even mention on this forum.

There's another threat you have left off which is flooding the internet with useless TLDs. They would be able to intentionally dilute the namespace and remove the influence of say "ford.com" and replace it with "ford.sucks". Even though "freerepublic.com" would not be affected there would be more imposter sites. The crucial factor for that kind of attack would be the involvement of big search engines like google. Together with foreign controlled ICANN they would be able to balkanize and break up the internet.

Condi Rice and Madam Albright are both tied to the $2.5 million lobby effort to get ICANN’s internet ‘transition’ passed. [And evidence of ‘walking around money’.]

Who paid that kind of money to get ICANN’s internet “transition” passed???

Although all of it concerns me, this section including Hate Speech is what really concerns me regarding the future of Conservative Political Websites!

ICANN’s Secret Crusade

It’s quite simple really. Obama is running out the clock on a key contract. After that ...

A. They will ponder hate speech enforcement. With their power to delete website property, they can either fine or wipe out any website that the globalists and their drones get mad at.

B. They lied about staying in the US and plan to move overseas to bypass US law.

C. ICANN is more than ready for a cyber-war with the US.

They have the software [along with copyrights and experience] to do anything that ANY foreign government deems legal.

To oppose them with a new counter-ICANN in the US would lead to anarchy — the ultimate cyber-war. If Google sides with them, they would be an unbeatable team.

D. Even if we renew the contract with ICANN before October 1, I seriously doubt that Obama would lift a finger to prevent rogue members of ICANN from flying off anyway, but at least we would have the legal ‘high ground’ in international law.

E. ICANN’s lobbyists are even spreading misinformation that .mil and .gov sites will be protected. They are clearly keeping their options open to consider meddling with US federal and military websites in ways that would enrage us.

~~~
A. Hate Speech Oversight
After that ICANN is free to fly over to one or more other nations, bypass US jurisdiction, then what? They ponder ‘hate speech’ oversight, such as the Swedish Plan, a global group-hug against hate speech.
[link will be provided for more in-depth]
They have spoken with the French Senate and also had secret talks with China.
That’s all we know about. There have undoubtedly been many backdoor meetings in the past year or so all over the globe.
For example — The UN would want ICANN to ‘slant’ internet speech to validate the World Court to create a worldwide mandate to arrest US war heroes or politicians for crimes against humanity or crimes against nature [aka ‘global warming]. Even a future President. We could resist them militarily and be an ‘island fortress’, but foreign visits could be dangerous and trade talks could get ugly and sea mines could be ‘righteously’ laid along our ports. [For starters.]
Bottom line: free speech prevents a world of hurt.
Not only could ICANN regulate hate speech, they could also raise fees across the board which the UN or China or any other country could collect. [Domain name fees.]
There's another threat you have left off which is flooding the internet with useless TLDs.
They've essentially already done that. The TLD system is nothing but a license to print almost unlimited amounts of money. Companies have to protect their trademarks in dozens of domains that they have zero interest in using. It's a huge waste of money for many businesses.
This week will be heating up....On Wednesday, Sean Duffy, GOP Rep from Wisconsin, will be updating on his Facebook and his website regarding the Internet Giveaway and the bills being introduced to stop it.
What can be done is to call Senators and Congresscritters and ask them to VOTE FOR THE PROTECTION OF INTERNET FREEDOM ACT. Hoping for vote this week or next...
hopefully sen. sessions and his cohorts can throw the anchor out on this scam.
===========================================\
Senator Sessions and the other 5 Senators need our help to throw the anchor out on this scam. So does Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI) and the other 29 House Reps trying to fight this!
HOUSE BILL HR5418 is READY FOR a VOTE...WE NEED TO CONTACT OUR CONGRESS REPS TO SUPPORT THE PROTECTION INTERNET FREEDOM ACT, HR5418.
SENATE COMPLEMENTARY BILL IS SB3034.
KEY IS GETTING IT VOTED ON THIS TERM. I WILL BE CONTACTING MY REP AND SENATORS ASKING THEM TO VOTE FOR THESE BILLS TO PROTECT INTERNET FREEDOM.
I ALSO WILL BE CONTACTING RYAN AND MCCONNELL OFFICES TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO ALLOW THE VOTES.
I find your detailed information intersting.
But ICANN charges a fee for every website. That means they register every domain name and it’s IP address as well as I understand it.
In other words, yes ICANN can delete specific websites unless there’s something I’m missing.
