I wonder if “gap” plans are really just a way for the insurance companies to go back to offering coverage people like, while still meeting the requirements of the ACA.
For example, the ACA mandates coverage for all sorts of things most of us don’t care about. So you buy a policy with a $6000 deductable that covers everything.
Then you buy a separate “gap” insurance, that covers your $6000 deductable, but only for SOME things, i.e. the things you actually wanted to be covered for.
You have the ACA-required insurance, you also have the insurance you kind of wanted, it’s all very inefficient because that’s what government does, but we have a sort-of solution to the problem.

He’s right - it’s working exactly as intended. Its collapse will lead to the rat version of National Health - with rat supporters getting even richer and the level of care dropping to third world status.
