The FBI had kept phone conversations between Mateen and the police negotiator secret after the June 12 mass shooting.
But on Friday, a Florida court agreed they should be made public in response to a lawsuit filed by several news organizations.
During the calls, Mateen blamed the attack, which left 49 dead and 53 others injured, on an air strike carried out by the Pentagon in May which killed Iraq's ISIS leader.
