Why do freepers act so baffled

It’s really simple and it’s always been this way since the civil war

Southern Jews were the last on these shores to vote like and assume the culture of the host

I the Eastern European Jewish mega wave was a far different animal

Israelis don’t surprise me

That was always my feelings about them

They were more my kind of folks and I’ve known plenty around the world including working with them big time

The base instinct of liberal European descended Jews in the USA today is many believe behind most Christians lies a potential Nazi or Ustachi or Okhrana

Some buck it to their credit

Once any group gets used to victim hood privilege or exclusivity in our culture it’s hard to resist playing the role

We basically inhabit a blame and hate the white mostly Christian west for all our accomplishment

And yet most of those Southern Jews were "Reform," the same "branch of Judaism" that brings you "social justice" all day every day.

And while some of those Eastern European Jewish immigrants were Communists and socialists, others were the ancestors of today's parochial "ultra-Orthodox" communities, who believe every single letter of the Torah was dictated by G-d and that everything related there actually happened. (Some may even believe that the earth is the center of the universe.) Which is preferable?

I must admit that I don't understand the fetishization of "culture." Maybe it's because I'm a religious fanatic. I believe somewhere there is a religion that is true for everyone without exception and everything else is wrong. What has "culture" got to do with that? Which is better . . . Charedi Jews who are fundamentalists or "Reform" Jews who "share the culture of their hosts?" I know which I prefer.

Really, wardaddy . . . I know you and I have very different worldviews. But isn't this idea of yours that religion is merely an aspect of culture and that there's a separate one for every ethnic group out there ultimately no more than atheism in disguise? I don't mean to be insulting, but what else would you call it?

I thought the essence of "Southernness" was this very dedication to absolute and factual (rather than merely symbolic) religious Truth. My ancestors have lived in the South forever, but this idea that Southerners are supposed to prefer their particular "culture" to the objective Truth of G-d A-mighty is totally alien to me. I'm simply not able to understand it.

If your "conservatism" is about conserving a particular "culture" rather than obedience to A-mighty G-d, then your priorities are all screwed up, imho.
