The so-called NeverTrumpers all along have had the intention of delivering the presidency to a neoconservative, meaning the intention was set before the NeverTrump phenomenon. Of course that’s all fairly clear in hindsight. They didn’t see Trump coming. When Trump became the dominate force, they thought they could stop him with Cruz, because they thought Trump’s support was mostly the pesky conservatives they’ve spent a couple of decades duping into their pockets. Not that Cruz Is necessarily neocon but they they all conservatives would rally behind him rather than Trump and would decidedly lose to Clinton. To their dismay, American patriots are not merely conservatives nor are they any longer so easily manipulated. Cruz’s last minute support was a last ditch effort to hand the presidency to the last standing neoconservative Clinton without having to come out of the closet. Thank God, Trump has flushed them all out...for even the fully duped to see. This truly is a battle between good and evil.

The Saker: What would actually be involved in a total throwdown with Russia in Syria

Conclusion: The risk of a US attempt to impose a no-fly zone over Syria will remain very real for the foreseeable future unless, of course, Trump beats Hillary to the White House. If Hillary wins – then that risk will sharply escalate. As for Obama, he probably does not want to stick a big stick in such a hornet’s nest right before leaving the White House (at least I hope so). Finally, regardless of who actually sits in the White House, the idea of imposing a no-fly zone over Syria would have to be measured against the so-called “Powell doctrine” of military interventions. So let’s see how this plan would measure up to the series of questions of the Powell doctrine:

Q: Is a vital national security interest threatened?
A: No
Q: Do we have a clear attainable objective?
A: Kinda
Q: Have the risks and costs been fully and frankly analyzed?
A: Yes, and they are potentially extremely high
Q: Have all other non-violent policy means been fully exhausted?
A: No
Q: Is there a plausible exit strategy to avoid endless entanglement?
A: No
Q: Have the consequences of our action been fully considered?
A: Yes, and the biggest risk is WWIII against Russia
Q: Is the action supported by the American people?
A: No
Q: Do we have genuine broad international support?
A: No

As we can easily see, this plan fails to meet the minimal criteria of the Powell Doctrine on most points. So as long as somebody mentally sane is in the White House all this talk should remain what it has been so far – empty threats. Of course, if Hillary makes it into the White House and then nominates a maniac like Michèle Flournoy as Secretary of Defense along with a national security team composed of rabid warmongers then all bets are off.

Please consider that before you go to vote.

I agree with you completely.

These clowns are in for a lot of surprises because the course of history is actually directed by God. The zealot believes , in error, that God is on his side. It is not God's responsibility to be on the side of any human being in a human conflict. Rather it is the responsibility of humanity to be on God's side by not having a conflict, in the first place.

Trump never mentioned the real issues in the debate but the Americans desperately need that information, which is currently being denied by the MSM.
