Kaine and Pence’s Rumble
American Thinker ^ | Patricia McCarthy

Posted on 10/05/2016 5:42:32 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

It did not go well for Tim Kaine. He was seriously outgunned by his own determination to not have an actual debate but to get in as many scripted hit lines as possible. He could not stop interrupting Pence, over and over again. He vacillated between looking like a deer in headlights or Howdy Doody, with a silly grin on his face.

But his interruptions were the key to his failure. When one cannot let the person with whom he is debating complete a sentence, it betrays fear and a lack of confidence in one's own position or cause. Kaine lost the debate, hands down. Not because everything he had to say was wrong but because he was so afraid he might not get to utter every insult he had practiced. It was pathetic.

Kaine's debate prep, like Hillary's, was based on the firm belief that the American people are stupid. Democrats have contempt for everyone outside of the beltway or their donor class. Did they really think that whoever tuned in tonight was not up on what each of the candidates has said in the past? It is a given that the people interested enough to watch a ninety-minute vice-presidential debate are familiar with who said what, how their words and deeds have been reported, what their positions in the past and present were and are.

VP debate watchers are watching for substance and on alert for guile, glibness and smarm. Kaine won on those points. Pence won on substance, calm and authenticity.

Every conservative should study how Pence took on abortion. It was a clinic. Put the left on the defensive for partial birth abortion.

I think Kaine's strange performance betrayed not only his own desperation but that of Hillary and the entire party.

Pence rattled the Left profoundly last night.

When the sun came up this morning, Democrats all over the country awoke to discover that they are in deep trouble.

I tuned in but Kaine was being so rude and childlike with his interruptions that I tuned out.

Didn't Saul Alinsky publish the tactic to never let the opponent speak? We saw communism in action last night. What a horror show!

Between the behavior of Kaine and the moderator, Hillary had a huge failure on her hands last night.

Pence was polite, gentlemanly and very presidential last night!

He won because he does not speak like a polished politician, as Pence rightly remarked.

People are sick to death of slick politicians. The Clintons are the slickest of all; they lie, cheat, steal, anything to gain more wealth and power. And they will not stop being who they are if elected.

This kinda reminds me of the recorded music industry of the late 50’s and early 60’s. The industry was slick and polished. There were acts like Doris Day, Frank Sinatra, et al. But there was something new in the works with the likes of Elvis, Holly and Cash. It was not polished. It was raw. It was not slick arrangements of songs written by professional song writers. It was a small band of “so-so” musicians and songs that hit people where they lived, and hit them hard.

I get the feeling that, in a way, Trump is to politics what Elvis was to music. The beginning of things to come. It takes the right guy at the right time. In a way, it took Obama to give us Trump.

Everyone on the dem side touted Kaine being a “Harvard Trained Lawyer” but he acted like a spoiled child. Lawyers are taught not to interrupt their opponent. They are trained to wait until their opponent has finished their statement and then respond. If you interrupt another lawyer in court, you can be sanctioned or held in contempt. Well I certainly hold Kaine in contempt.

I listened to the first half hour on my drive home. Kaine would not let Pence finish a single sentence before jumping in to spew some stupid talking point. It was beyond rude.

I didn’t watch it after I got home because, frankly, I did not need to have the vision of some scary Twilight Zone puppet with Hillary pulling the strings in my mind before I went to sleep.

Kaine is a genuinely creepy looking guy. I can only imagine what he looked like when he was not only looking like a creep, but acting like one too.

God I hope you are right!

My wife said she thought Cain lost, but I saw the interruptions as something the left would admire. Very Saul Alinskey.

Trump re=tweeted that Cain looked like an evil villain in a Batman movie... LOL!

Kaine’s strange performance was childish, petulant, and even cartoonish at times. It really was a weird thing to watch, even for a Democrat. I think his behavior was severely damaging in that he came across as completely unpresidential and lacking in gravitas.

The fact that the so-called “moderator” sided with Kaine, and he still couldn’t best Pence with the wind behind his back, showed what a lightweight Kaine is.

The left’s assault on Trump for saying Putin is a better leader than BO is akin to the left’s assault on Limbaugh for saying that he hopes BO is not “successful “.

Let’s break it down for the dim-witted, willfully obtuse progressives:

Yes, we all hope BO is not successful in his quest to fundamentally transform our country.

Yes, Putin is a better leader for his country than BO is for ours. (I wish it weren’t true, too, but it is).

There is no doubt of this. That’s why we need a change.

Exactly! We were starved for leadership and we got a leader.

We are starved for a straight talker that will actually DO things, and we have Trump.

And the press treated Reagan similar to how they are treating Trump.
