A decision made without any involvement whatsoever by Congress.

In other words, illicit and unconstitutional.

This is insanity! Name me another, pre-existing, medical or psychological condition, requiring life long treatment, long periods of non-deployability and at tremendous expense to the American Taxpayer that is waived for commissioning or enlistment!

Psoriasis, edxema, bad acne, previous concussion are all disqualifying medical conditions. Yet, we are actively recruiting those with a mental illness that will become a lifetime burden upon the American Taxpayer. All for a person that will never deploy!

Hearing this discussed on the radio some time ago, it was said that this assessment/treatment/recovery takes about 18 months, during which the patient would be basically useless to the military.

So, are they also going to pay for face lifts, boob jobs and all the other purely cosmetic surgery?

They already do, even dependent wives can get free cosmetic surgery.
