WASHINGTON The F.B.I. secretly arrested a National Security Agency contractor in recent weeks and is investigating whether he stole and disclosed highly classified computer codes developed to hack into the networks of foreign governments, according to several senior law enforcement and intelligence officials.
The theft raises the embarrassing prospect that for the second time in three years, an insider has managed to steal highly damaging secret information from the N.S.A. In 2013, Edward J. Snowden, who was also a contractor for the agency, took a vast trove of documents that were later passed to journalists, exposing N.S.A. surveillance programs in the United States and abroad.

How can they prove intent?
And that psychotic clown Hillary Dianne Rodham Clinton, defender of rapists, remains at large and running for President ...
Are they in negotiations to see if he will please turn over his laptop? At least they should ask him to look through and turn over anything work related.
Ooh oh the Federal Bureau of Incompetent arresting the little guy and standing up fraud, injustice, and the Clinton way.
Oh, the irony...
"The man quickly outsmarted the FBI, however, by legally changing his name to 'Hillary Clinton', and beginning a campaign for President..."
Anyone arrested for espionage should just use “The Hillary Defense”.
My lawyer would be on it in a heartbeat. “You’re honor, there was NO INTENT on the part of my client when he provided our nuclear launch codes to the Russians”.
I guess the most logical thing to do now is to strip productive, peaceable, tax-paying Americans of their Constitutionally protected rights.
That’s solved so many other problems over the last 15 years.
WAIT!! Stop!! Are they prosecuting him for removal of “confidential” documents and not Hillary ( who then destroyed them after subpoena) . Is she above the law and he isn’t?
No reasonable prosecutor would take this case, clearly...
Wait until they are finished.
I’m sure they will give his lawyer an opportunity to delete and bleachbit his personal info before turning it over.
One must dispose of the evidence in an environmentally responsible way. Of course the best way is to bury the bodies where nature will take care of it.
If only he had used a homemade private server...
From the details it doesn’t appear as if he intended to disseminate or sell the classified info. He just wanted to possess it. I think he just has issues where he simply wanted the thrill of illicitly possessing this material. Being a fat, mediocre-minded nerd and making $150k at Booz Allen and pretending to be techno spy protecting America no longer gave him a thrill in life. His life is about to get a lot more exciting and he’s looking at a 5-year stretch (after cooperating and pleading guilty) at a federal correctional institute (vs. penitentiary).
Why the big deal? After all, the Witch put every secret she had access to on an insecure, illegal server and left it open to hacking so our secrets were out there like food on a Golden Corral buffet for anybody who’d paid the right bribe to take at will. If she’d been SOS in WW II we’d be speaking German and Japanese today.
He needed to split the bribe money with the democrat party.
Wasn’t there something about equal protection under the law?
Yes. I believe I read that somewhere.
In fact, since Bolling v. Sharpe, it applies to the Federal Government as well as states.
Hmmm... wonder if that might apply to, I don’t know...
Stealing classified information
Cheating on taxes
Selling arms to terrorists
Taking bribes for government contracts
Stealing from charities
Stealing US Aid
Rape
Murder
Nah. Only the ELITE, such as the Clintons can do these things with impunity...
So far. Just might catch up to them some day soon. Modern day Ahab and Jezebel. Didn’t end so well for the original couple.
I don't know if he was guilty or not but what he is accused of doing is far less than Clinton, Mills, Abedin and other Clinton co-conspirators have done.
