Yes, I’m sure they do.
Even before he is elected!
NPR talked of this concept this morning and it really does have merit: companies that trade together to the point of becoming interdependent are less likely to go to war with each other.
In principle that can work, but there are other factors in play.
That is a fallacy, Britain and Germany were trading partners in the 1930’s. Japan and America were big trading partners too. Britain also had a huge investment in China and Hong Kong, people just get tired of being dominated and treated like lackeys which is what happens when one side is more powerful than the other.
Globalization will bring World Civil War
Yeah. I believe trade disputes were part of the problem in the Pacific.
Consider: "Love," "Hate" & "Who We Are?".
We have always been at war against Eastasia.
The World is not now and never will be anything resembling a civil society. If World Government is ever forced upon us, it will be the ultimate human tyranny. You cannot force a world of “let’s pretend” fantasy upon any of us, without absolutely destroying all the things which inspire individualism and personal responsibility. It would require a form of “political correctness,” combined with constant demonstrations of KGB or Gestapo efficiency in suppression of spontaneous communications—a total nightmare.

This is neoconservative dogma. The idea is not without merit, but it does not seem to be true in general.
Yet Trump has never claimed he would restrict trade, he would only like to renegotiate trade on more favorable terms.
The G20 parasites want to keep ripping off our clueless government. They are scared spitless of Trump because they are afraid we’ll stop writing checks to bail out their countries. Hot checks are as good as good checks if the banks will cash them.
I saw on here the heavily discounted rates and shipping fees that both Amazon and PayPal use for Chinese entities on their websites. It is SHOCKING. Americans practically can’t compete.
I didn’t copy the poster’s words and can’t find any article about this.
That is BS.
The intellectuals thought that in 1914, too.
I remember all those years when leftists/progressives would rant endlessly about the evils of imperialism. Now under the new title of globalization they want to achieve the same goals only on a worldwide scale.
Globalists = 21st century plantation owners.
We, the deplorables, are the sharecroppers.
Free trade is one thing. Turning over our sovereignty is another. The global elite are more concerned with the latter.
Completely agree.
The trade disputes were Japan trying to block shipments to China.
The US responded by blocking oil trade to Japan but by this time the fighting in Asia was well under way.
I listen to NPR too .... But place a blockade on most of what they say on politics.
