No, because you don’t live in New York. I just think a guy who has lived in Chicago for 36 years should be a Cubs fan. You don’t have to agree. Obviusly, some peole don’t or I wouldn’t have brought it up. If I relocated to New York, I’d eventually root for the Yankees. If I lived somewhere without a major league team it wouldn’t matter.

A Cubs - Sox series would have been fun.

Adios to Papi, I know he could be a jerk but he loved playing the game.

Go Trump Go!!

Whoa, whoa...don’t upset the Fan Karma rules...

You CAN switch your FAVE TEAM loyalties if you simply declare the “X” are my fave team. But...

You can’t still have the other team as a fall back if your new fave sucks. That’s bouncing...

Now I have the Cubs as my total all time FAVE FAN Karma team, but...I live near Denver so I can claim to enjoy the Rockies legally as a resident.

It’s complicated, I know...and don’t get me started on the proper rally cap etiquette!!

I never do it, but that does not bother me as much as people not getting into the home-town team spirit. If I am watching an important game, or a playoff game, I love seeing the stands filled with fans wearing the local team's shirts, hats, etc. If I visit another town and go to a game, I root for the home team (unless they're playing the Astros, which has never happened to me). I don't want to tune into a playoff game and see Wrigley Field a sea of Cub blue except for some assholes wearing San Diego Padres shirts and hats.

A time for the fall-back team that is legit IMO is when your team is out of the playoffs and you latch onto some team just to have a rooting interest in the post season. I don't actually do this, but I have in some years, such as the famous Reds/Red Sox World Series in 1975 when I was for the Red Sox. This year, once the Astros were eliminated, I really didn't care what happened and I haven't watched any playoff games this year. But if I did plan to watch the playoffs and series, I'd have to pick somebody.
