North Dakota pipeline protesters’ drone shot after buzzing police helicopter

Police officers shot at a drone operated by activists during Sunday’s North Dakota pipeline protest after the aircraft flew near a police helicopter, leaving passengers “in fear of their lives.”

The drone “flew at a helicopter in a threatening manner” above a protest at a Dakota Access pipeline construction site, prompting officers to fire “less-than-lethal” ammunition at the drone, which then was landed by its operator, according to the Morton County Sheriff’s Department.

“A sheriff on board the helicopter reported to law enforcement on the ground that the helicopter pilot and passengers were ‘in fear of their lives,’ and that the ‘drone came after us,’” the department said Sunday in a press release.

The department said the drone was in violation of Federal Aviation Administration rules, which bar drone activity near manned aircraft.

‘in fear of their lives,’

The magic words to get away with shooting anything they want.

I hope the drone pilot gets a visit from the ‘Friendly’ Aviation Administration.

here in Eastern Washington, the inner city leftist want to ban the coal trains from coming thru, because of the the "dust" and they also want to exclude the natural gas trains, and infact they just don't want anything passing thru at all....

and now we can't have a pipeline and we get the usual idiots protesting that....

I'd like to see these people not have fuel for their cars nor electricity and heat for their homes for just a week and see how they like it....

whenever my husband and I travel across the country, we always point out the "evil" coal trains....

they amaze me....I've counted well over 100 cars....

“in fear of their lives.”

The drone “flew at a helicopter in a threatening manner”

Remember these phrases.

Scratch them on the side of your shotgun.

Yep, the enviro-nazis want everything left pristine like it was hundreds of years ago but want all of the modern conveniences for comfortable living.

If we want to end this crap, arrest the operator, give him a trial, if found guilty, death by firing squad at dawn.

If they want to drive their car somewhere they just go to the gas station and fill up. If they want to heat their home or watch left-wing movie stars they just need to flip a switch. They don’t need no stinkin’ fuel trucks, no stinkin’ coal trucks, and no stinkin’ leakin’ pipelines for that. That’s what the Unicorn channel tells them.

Immaterial.

In-flight collision with a small item (like a bird) can be (and has) resulted in significant damage/downing of various platforms, and in my case, luckily I had two engines and when one engine sucked in a bird, the engine shredded engine parts that damaged a few critical electrical lines. The remaining engine ensured a safe landing.

That’s right.

LaVoy Finicum was gunned down in Oregon on Jan.26 in a ‘law enforcement’ operation that treated him and those with him as if they were the Islamic State.

The only violence during the Oregon Standoff protest came from the federal government side......

Barack Obama approved this pipeline after he turned down the Keystone XL.

The whole project smells fishy to the Left and a lot of politicians are appealing to Obama to halt the project.

But its too close to the election for any decision to be made.

I smell crony capitalism and corruption in the decision to build this pipeline.

Who in this pipeline project gave money to the DNC, Obama, local Republican politicians in North Dakota, South Dakota etc.?

I understand the reaction on freepers against the protestors as being environmental wackos but I tend to want to stand with anyone who is protesting invasion of the great empty land out here in fly over country. When Mr. Mercat and I drive to Colorado now we see acre after acre of huge windmills. The power being generated is not helping Kansas. It’s going far away to big cities and in the meantime our beautiful prairie is desecrated and our birds are being killed in our migration flyway.

Besides, if Obama is for something, I tend to be against it.

He pretty much confirmed that this week with his comments about considering a relocation.

The protestors in North Dakota are anti-Obama protestors.

Then maybe Trump should go there and stand with them. Radical thought.

I hear you, but we shall see.

I think he should respond to the issue by sending a representative who has experience dealing with crony capitalists from the energy industry.

Namely Sarah Palin.

Her political career took off when she saw the collusion between the GOP Frank Murkowski Machine and the energy industry in Alaska.

Palin was chairing a state commission as a front for the machine but she refused to play ball and got the last laugh defeating Murkowski in the 2006 primary for governor and winning the general election.

I drove out West for the first time in my life last summer and saw them in Texas and other places.

Over in England Nigel Farage and UKIP campaigned against the messing up of the English countryside with windmills.
