Wonder what would have happened if it had been a bunch of Klansmen tearing up Mobile and the white DA had said the same? Reckon the Justice Dept might have had something to say about that?

That was the mayor. This is the Prosecutor that falsely arrested the police for, among other charges, false arrest. Oh the irony. Exceptionally weak case based upon even weaker evidence.
This concept of denying a bench trial is again rather poorly conceived. The first problem is denying police officers the rights afforded to all other citizens. The second problem is being a prosecutor and implying that the judiciary isn't able to make just decisions. That will not play well with judges. What Ms. Mosby wants is mob rule so she doesn't have to actually prove a case.
