The Americans “can no longer launch a direct invasion against any country, which means that the US war machine is operating without fuel,” added the senior Iranian military official.

Iran ‘showing patience’

Elsewhere in his remarks, the IRGC commander highlighted the US failure in honoring its obligations under last year’s nuclear deal, warning that the Iranian nation has so far remained patient with Washington’s lack of commitment to its promises.

He needs to consult with Trump regarding the future.

He’s right. And once Clintoonie’s ass is placed on the throne by people like the Bush family, we won’t even be in the top 100. Those days are gone. Nobody wants America to be great anymore.

I wonder if Kerry and Obama will be asked to provide their usual bumper crop of excuses, evasions and creative redefinition of commonly-used words.

So, if the US can do so no longer, which other nation can?? Russia?? China?? I don’t think so.

Truth hurts. The US military has been ground down in terms of material and morale over the last 15 years. That and American leadership is hell bent on destroying the nation.

Even if it’s untrue I don’t think we want these guys to believe we are not more powerful than they are.

Good point. We can rebuild, across the board, if we have a leader with real vision and determination. Our biggest problem is leaders who project weakness. Nothing but weakness can follow.

(That might be a good “closing argument” for Trump to make.)

No, he's wrong and by a lot. We have about 20 nuclear powered submarines on patrol 7/24/365 around the world. Each one has about 20-24 missiles each with 10 warheads (MIRV). Any of them can be anywhere in the world within just a few days and hit any target on the planet.

Do the math.

20 subs X 20 missiles X10 warheads on each missile equals 4000 nuclear warheads with each one having approximately 20 times the explosive force of the bombs dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Resistance is futile.

I’m sure we have a bomb or three, almost as old as him, that would take out Tehran and according to the loose lipped liar, in about four minutes.

A limiting factor though, is that we would not use nukes unless so attacked ourselves (or maybe on the receiving end of a large scale chem or bio attack.)

So, the real question comes down to conventional forces, and will. Here, there is no rational debate that we can still wipe out the military of any other country on the planet, though our capacity to fight a long, slow, grinding war against a foe like China continues to deteriorate. Still, the will of our people and leaders is the true weak point.

Although you are correct, the limiting factor you mention is a self limiting factor. If we have wept and refuse to use them and let people know, this we might just as well get rid of the weapons.

Well, I’d say the reason to keep nukes is precisely to deter nuclear or large scale chem / bio attacks on us. Having them in our arsenal is not to deter conventional attacks, nor should or need it be, IMO.
