I’ve met and worked with several “seminary” graduates.

Most of them don’t know the first thing about Scripture. No wonder a whole lot of Christians don’t either, given this sort of “leadership”.

I tried to explain islam versus Scripture to one guy. Didn’t get it at all - what excited him was “interfaith dialogue”.

Well, that sounds all nice and humanistic.

We have the Gospel based on Scripture - it does not bargain down to “commonality” with another religion. Reject it if one will, but we do not share commonality with anything else. We do not recognize mad mo as a “prophet” and certainly not superior to Christ.

We are fools for Christ; not some seminary (there’s been some good ones ought there). One of my professors, nice guy, got his Doctorate at Dallas Theological which is generally pretty conservative from what I’ve seen. I saw him on TV a few years ago; he’s pastoring a “multi-faith church”. Gotta say, I wasn’t surprised after sitting in class. Again, decent guy. But I don’t think he was solidly-rooted in Scripture (though he had committed much of it to memory).

One of my others had a doctorate from Yale. I converted his thinking a bit, he admitted to me. Nonetheless, I still learned a bit from the two classes, when one knew what to discard afterwards.
