LEESBURG, Virginia Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump addressed a packed after-midnight rally at the Loudon Fairgrounds early Monday morning, in a speech he dubbed the Midnight Special.
The text was Trumps stump speech and closing argument repealing Obamacare, draining the swamp of corruption, and building the wall but the context was a room full of thousands of people, and many hundreds more outside, standing in the 45-degree cold for hours to hear his address.
The rally had originally been scheduled for 9:30 p.m., and was packed long before that, but Trump ran late as he packed four earlier campaign rallies into an ambitious Sunday schedule, including rallies in Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
As the traveling press arrived at Dulles International Airport, it was unclear, from afar, whether anyone would have stayed three hours overtime to hear Trump especially on a school night, the night before a busy work week.
Yet the hall was completely full, with supporters jostling to be near the front and a large overflow outside.

Witnesses to history.
The guy is working very hard. This has to be wearing on him.
Thank goodness it’s over by tomorrow night.
I really appreciate the battle he has waged this past 17 months.
This is what I expect in the way of a fight for the office from our side, and it’s the first time I’ve seen anything like this.
Even this election, compare what Hillary has been doing to what he has been doing.
He’s been a virtual dynamo.
My hat is off to him.
I’m 48 and I can’t keep that pace.
After her’s president he should do what The Great One did and have his exercise routine covered in a magazine :)
Anybody remember that? :)
Yes,my hat is off to him and to all his supporters that waited for hours at the event. This is a movement of the people.
Well said. We couldn’t have asked him to work much harder than this.
I agree. I’m fully expecting a win on Tuesday. Trump has been fighting since he announced and has increased his intensity ever since.
Whatever happens, I hope he gets some rest. He’s worked more in 17 months than Obama has in his entire life.
I agree Rusty0604. Earlier this evening I said he’s something of a folk hero now, and I think that’s actually true. Thanks.
No kidding.
Trump ended the VA rally at 1:00AM. His stamina is impressive, for sure.
LOL, true...
He probably worked more on Sunday than Obama has in his entire life.
long day. The 70 year old has completely outworked the woman.
We’ll see Tuesday if it pays off big.
Trump will win VA.
If you have an overflow crowd outside in cold weather hearing Trump after midnight - this is the stuff of a winning campaign.
Its extraordinary - the contagious enthusiasm and the belief history is being made - one of a kind!
No one would have waited hours for any other candidate to address them. That says it all.
That would be great!
it can’t be said that rump did not put in his heart, soul, and every ounce of energy into this race.
Trump has the heart of a winner, the heart of a lion. Win or lose, ill always be a Trump fan.
In Arlington, Va. in the Douglas Park area, anti-Trump thieves stole about a dozen Trump-Pence campaign signs from the median strip between 4 Mile Run, Walter Reed Drive, and 19th Street.
A criminal complaint was filed with the Arlington Police Department.
While the theft probably took place in the dark with very few witnesses around, it was the only act of thievery in that median strip area.
Other signs for both Republican and Democrat candidates for the Congress and local elections remained untouched. The same, so far, for the Shirlington area.
Most people in these areas are decent folks but it is suspected that a roving group, probably in cars or trucks, went around key areas and stole the Trump signs.
If they are caught, area Republicans will prefer charges against them. Hopefully some surveillance cameras in the area will have caught the thieves on file.
Hint, assholes. Never steal something from the front area of a police substation. They have cameras, you know.
Trump loves what he does - it isn’t ‘work’ for him it’s fun
He’s actually accomplished more in the 17 months too, than Obama ever has. Drain the swamp !
Thats going to be NOTHING compared to his inauguration speech.
In a year of a Classic World Series and the Classic Seventh game itself,a non politician, non ATTORNEY,a businessman has run a campaign for the ages, the final chapter to be written tomorrow.
Never thought I would see anything like this in my lifetime, the chance to save our country, literally in our hands,PRAY FOR MR.TRUMP
